Fantastic whodunnit

This is the best Dalziel I've seen. I've only started watching the series. I've probably seen about 10-12 now. They are pretty full on and gritty, and personalities of the characters as well as the dialogue and stories sound like something stuck in the 70s. So I often find it interesting but weird.

But really loved this being like a classic murder mystery with a new, regular criminal investigative twist.

That's not the only thing twisted as you think we might know who the serial killer is pointing too, than switches again.

A good all over plot with some great acting cameos. Some have thought this is ridiculous. Don't understand why it's like all crime dramas have an element of ridiculous just being the fact it's a tv show! This is entertaining!

Absolutely ridiculous, to the point of greatness

This is bad TV so bad it rises to greatness. Everything is dreadful, particularly the romance between "rye" and "hat". The actors are stumped by the script, the director has no idea about the story, the writer is utterly lost. Only poor Wieldy emerges with his dignity intact. A catastrophic masterpiece.

Wielded

What an awful way to commemorate David Royle's 29th consecutive and final appearance.

There is a good comedic cast here but the story isn't funny or particularly suspenseful.

I like the 2 X 60 minute format but there is little else positive to say but this, the show's first Christmas special is a let down. They often are.

Wieldy says "The show's been axed" and perhaps the axe should have been Wielded.

A waste of good talent.
