Soul-healing.

This show has what can only be described as a supernatural appeal. It speaks to your soul in a lighthearted manner without coming across as gullible or naive.

This is one of the best dramedy shows of all time.

How on earth...
idrincon26 September 2020
I watched the episode twice just to try to answer the question: how on earth is this show able to create a mini-story in each scene? There are no filler scenes and even more surprising, each one if them is a story on itself... all in 30 min! I am baffled... and happy.

This series is surprisingly positive, beyond what I ever thought could work. but this episode caught me off guard. emotions run high, and the acting is superb. the entire project deserves accolades.

Episode Over Way Too Soon!!!
wmrvincent26 September 2020
Every episode in this season so far seems shorter than the last. I savored every second of "All Apologies" and couldn't believe that the full 30 minutes had passed at the end. The script and the acting in this episode was brilliant. While each final outcome may have been predictable, the pathway to get there was anything but that. Along the way I not only laughed at the lines, but was also drawn into the complex emotions that were essential to story and the growth of the main characters in the series. I almost want to avoid the season finale because I don't know how it could possibly equal this quality of content and delivery.

Surprisingly good!

I thought this would be the usual fish out of water trope (American in the UK x no understanding of football) and was worried about a couple of the characters being one dimensional (the girlfriend, the poser footballer, the kit man) but I went immediately to the second episode. Each one has a mini story arch which shows a round development of character and relationships and it doesn't feel crammed in or lacking in realism. I enjoyed this series for it's humour and light as well as understanding how manipulative the bad guy ex-husband is without feeling that it was all played for laughs. Highly recommend even if you don't watch football

Forgiveness
dannylee-7808229 October 2021
It's very rare to see characters like Ted thrive. Totally good hearted, but still complex. The shows I've watched in the past highlighted characters that were usually mostly gray and maybe a little on the meaner side - but his act of forgiveness is a genuine act of virtue, which we so rarely see on TV these days.

All Apologies Warning: Spoilers
Rebecca is redeemed through her repentance and becomes far friendlier to all her fellows as a result. Ted is conflicted over benching Roy and Ted's co-coach gets incredibly over-upset about Ted not benching Roy, but Ted always one to make the right decision leaves the choice upto Roy himself. What an episode. Spectacular.

Field of dreams

God I hate myself for enjoying this.

I so don't want to like it but it just is.

The simplicity of Ted, the stuck up British characters, the jokes that are there but the warmth and humility shine through and that's what makes it enjoyable.

Anthony Head was suave smooth and sophisticated in thd Nescafe Gold ads yet thd bloke who only seems to play himself is devishly bad as Rupert here.

It's a wonderful feel good shoe where everyone can let things out which brings a light for half an hour on a world where things are grim and grey.

Excellent writing here which is bringing the show up to a great series finale.

Righting the Ship

This episode was all about bringing things down to manageable. Roy has slowed down and a major issue is his lack of reaction time on defense. He has started every game of his career and now the pressure is on to replace him as a starter. This falls on Ted and he is ready to fly in the face of his coaches who know better this time. Rebecca has an epiphany and realizes she owe all kinds of apologies. She has orchestrated an effort all along to destroy the Richmond team. She actually hired a photographer to get cheesy photos of Ted. And she fired Higgins whom she has belittled and hurt year after year. There are so many great moments that I will resist mentioning them, but it is another very good effort.

I don't wanna drink with someone that selfish

Some interesting character development in this episode. This was the first time this show made me go wow! Beard is the last person you would expect to raise his voice, and even tho Ted's heart was in the right place.. Beard was absolutely right! Winning or losing does matter in professional sports, losing does in fact have repercussions. The humiliation of relegation is not something a Premier League team wants to go through. Although this is a laugh out loud comedy show, it gets serious when it has to. It's not always fun and games and this episode perfectly illustrates it.

Ted Lasso was a brilliant show and I hope they give us more seasons.

Warning: Spoilers
This was a different kind of episode, but a good one nonetheless. This show excels at focusing on a different part of a character each week and we saw an expected, but still entertaining development with a core part of the team.

All Apologies

How do you solve a problem like Roy Kent. He is too old and getting slower.

Ted Lasso is reluctant to bench him. Such sentimentality does not afflict Coach Beard and Nathan. They give Ted the silent treatment. As far as they are concerned, Ted is not thinking about the team who are in danger of getting relegated.

Meanwhile Rebecca has fathomed that her behaviour has been obnoxions, both to Ted and Higgins. She is still under pressure from Keeley to come clean to Ted.

Another episode that brings the characters together. If Ted frequently appears indifferent to AFC Richmond's fate. Then this episode is a wake up call.

Just as the ice cold bath is one to Roy Kent, that he is not the player he once was.

It was a nice touch for him to pull Ted back when he nearly got run over.
