A worthy, two-part offering that one and all will find entertaining and satisfying. This story is of a lonely tropic isle on which oily "combers" roll lazily up all day long. Other scenes are in a fishing village where the wife and children of the castaway sailor stand and wait. It is in itself a much better tale than Enoch Arden; is fresh and also in accord with the modern fashion in stories. The characters are life-like and, for the most part, well acted. The photography is well-nigh perfect. So we can very safely commend this as an exceptionally good offering. - The Moving Picture World, June 13, 1914
