Warning: Spoilers
Paul Weston is preparing for his next patient when the phone rings. He answers and overhears the voice of, what appears to be Sophie, the girl with the next appointment. After a moment, Sophie enters the room, wet from the rain. He tells her he will get some of his daughter's clothes to wear, something she is not too happy to do, with the promise that her clothes will be dry when she is ready to go home. The only problem is that Sophie needs help getting out of what she had on, as well as dressed because her two broken arms. Kate Weston is called to help the girl.

Sophie has come hoping Dr. Weston has finished with the report she is supposed to present at the school before she can be readmitted to class. Her athletic career seems to be in jeopardy as well. Paul does not think she is ready to go back yet. Her inability to use her arms aside, she is a disturbed young woman. Dr. Weston feels he has to work with her for quite some time before she is ready to get on with her life.

Sophie is at times childish and mature. Her dislike for her mother bothers into hatred. The relationship with her father, who she supposedly adores, is going through some rough time. Sophie tests the therapist, but Weston is up to her tricks. He even reads what he has written in the report, to her amazement. As the session ends, we see Sophie being helped again by Kate as Sophie clings to her in an embrace, perhaps moved by the woman's kindness.

This episode was written by Sara Treem and the director, Rodrigo Garcia. The series is based on an Israeli program that translates as "In Therapy". Not having seen the original, we do not have anything to go to compare both versions. The American version gives us a good look at the world of mental therapy as practiced by a man with a lot of inside into what makes his patient act the way they do and to help them deal with their problems.

Gabriel Byrne is fine as the wise Paul Weston. Sophie is played by Mia Wasikowska, whom we saw recently in "The Kids Are All Right". The young actress shows a vulnerable side to Sophie, reflected in her intelligent take of her character. Michelle Forbes appears as Kate Weston.
