Not good
pauli_gomez28 July 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Oh, where to begin? There is a copycat of Misery, which will be solved next week, I suppose. Then, there are a lot of references at people mistreated by their race or gender but then those people are actually doing bad things, like cheating on her husband or messing with the evidence, hiding information and perhaps killing someone. And what makes all worse, that killed person was the only major male character who was black. I am worried now for Watts, as the season ending only needs to bury its gays to be the worst.

Let me be clear, I like this show very much, but I never cared for the Victoria Hart subplot and this episode was just bad.

Det. Watts being gay
kattenburgkathy28 September 2021
Why? Well, lol, there ARE gay people in the world. They do exist. And Murdoch Mysteries does have a track record of tackling thorny social issues: racism, homosexuality (before Det. Watts was even written into the show. Why? Because it makes Watts more interesting, as *any* revelation about specific individual qualities or experiences make *any* character more interesting.

And as to "even if Det. Watts had never had a relationship," well, lol. That might have worked for you. I doubt whether it would have made Watts happy.

Is making Watts gay virtue-signaling? Well, I don't know. Is attacking the decision to make him gay bigotry-signaling?

great episode as always
nyobatusa27 February 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Julia is playing with fire. this is such a great show and continues its tradition of delivering quality content, writing and acting. it reflects not only historical facts, inventions and personas like Tesla but the development of the traditional relationships between men and women the perception of working women in man dominated fields and especially it shows real issues such as values that bind marriage such as faith and religion. We have already seen how Julia was conflicted but convinced euthanasia is ok to use knowing her catholic husband would not like it. she is progressive and liberal to a point of ruining her valuable marriage with so much history, why? she has no higher morals that would stop her in fact she prides herself in having progressive attitude and morals. william is probably too inflexible for her eventhough he has never let her down and never lost his integrity in front of others. this is a beginning of the end or romance. people often underestimate importance of same values such faith and trust in a marriage.

I love Ogden, girl get it together!
klashaye22 August 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I've just started binge watching this series and I love it overall, but i'm sick of this blossoming affair with Oden and her colleague. Ogen is too grown for this behavior. After all they did to get Murdoch and Ogden together, it would be nice to have them be solid and faithful to each other. I don't like that they have her so disrespectful to their relationship, disguising it as Independent and strong. That's an insult to women who are those things. You can be Independent and strong without disrespect. Murdoch has his flaws but he respects and loves her and doesn't have a wondering eye.

Then they kill the only consistant black Male character, only to imply the only consistant black female character killed him. I didn't care for how they brought Harts character in with the hidden motives, the arrogant attitude and other leading characters enabling it. I know the writers are trying to make it somewhat realistic, but they could bring the drama in a different way.

Sloppy writing
tracy-96-5453261 August 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I love this show. But this is one of the worst episodes. It's just sloppy. Like they hurried to get an episode written at the last minute. The George Crabtree situation was so stupid, such a rip-off of Stephen King's Misery. The dialog of the entire episode is contrived. I tired of this Ms Hart storyline long ago. Not up to the same standard as most of the other episodes from this show. Everything about this episode was disappointing.
