The writers decide to build in the fact that
Sabrina Jalees (Lexie) is a stand-up in real life into the show.
The others going to see her perform also gets them away from the hospital, which is a plus too, because already they seemed to be struggled for enough plots based there to keep everyone busy.
Unfortunately it all falls to pieces after this. Lexie predictably roasts her colleagues, spilling the beans about Daniel and Jenny's romance (or one very brief date) in the process.
Carol of course then takes umbrage that she was kept in the dark, hugely over-reacts and then expects everyone to apologise - which of course this being 'Carol's Second Act' where Carol is always right, they do.
There's a weak B plot too involving the two characters I'd have written out long ago (Dr Jacobs and Caleb), which does nothing to improve my thinking.
This is amiable but ultimately weak stuff.
