Amazing

Warning: Spoilers
Yet again, an amazing episode! I especially loved Mare's scene with Siobhan. Very powerful. I had bloody tears in my eyes listening to Mare tell the story of when Kevin died.

SPOILERS,

Billy is too obvious to be the killer. Or he helped at least. I believe John killed Erin. They really lead up to it and by not showing that photo right at the end, proved it can't be Billy cause they would've showed it. Like Lori said, this time John is cheating, he isn't showing any signs and even she didn't notice.

What makes me think John is the killer is the way Billy looked at him during the episode after John "made" him confess. The look is betrayal. His own brother. John definitely took Billy to the cabin to kill him. When Billy found the gun, he was shocked and knew right at that moment and that's why he kept hold of the tackle box.

Anywho, fantastic episode. Can't bloody wait for next weeks finale!

From Argentina
I hope my review won't disappear as it happened with the one I posted after watching episode 5 (on Sunday 16th May).

♠♠♠♠♠♠♠ This episode was really great and Kate's performance was just WONDERFUL.

But I wish some other twist in the plot.

If not, everything is solved but I do not think this is the case.

Let's wait until next Sunday to figure out the actual truth about everything.

Regards from Argentina.

One of the good episodes but predictable climax
iammajidzz24 May 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Episode 5 was best of season thanks to rescue of 2 missing girls and sadly death of detective. This episode was expected to be some gratitude for the work Mare did and yes it has been to an extent.

However Erin murder unrelated to girls kidnapping is still pending. This episode turns out give better clues who it was, and it was little predictable due to last scene.

Up until Mare was going to find Billy, who is supposed to be accused murderer of Erin, it was easy.

Then Jess arrives and gives Cheif the picture which reveals, actually nothing but makes sure for the audience that John is trying to frame Billy for Murder and kill him to end the evidence.

Billy has been covering for John all the time and he tried to save Erin(may be). Now seeing John has also packed Gun, he is sure of his death now.

Powerful follow-up to the preceding episode
etherealreviews25 May 2021
A stellar episode that picks up right where it left off and the story is only getting warmer. If the previous episode left you surprised, this one will make you feel wanting for more. Amazing performances of Shivon and Lori. We get a perfect balance of emotional drama and the pacing of the mystery with mystery winning.

Mare deals with the aftermath of the powerful event and we get a lot of our questions partially answered. We still have heaps to uncover in the final episode and the way this one ended on a cliffhanger, it only makes it more exciting.

Overall, I was skeptical if the show could hold on to it's quality throughout and it not only has done that but magnified it. Awaiting the season finale. Godspeed Mare.

[8.2] Who's going to confess, who's going to die?!
cjonesas9 August 2021
Warning: Spoilers
An episode with the usual good acting, filled with fillers, some development throughout, bad editing and an incredulous cliffhanger.

Billy's look was full of fear, uneasiness and some repressed frustration. Is he afraid of John?! His conscience is playing tricks on him. He looks like a tracked animal, sensing the end is near...

Again .... a very powerful episode
woodvillelite-124 May 2021
Warning: Spoilers
First off .... my positive thinking did not work ... Det Zabel is dead .... why is he listed in 6 episodes then? Oy vay!

All in all we have lot of serious drug addictions and mental issues going on here in this little town. Is there something in the water there ... oh no that is "Burden of Truth" .... wrong series. Before the end I really have to recap the whole show from scratch as I think I have to be missing something somewhere.

Also too much filler in the whole show, wasted time that really doesn't need to be in there .... the funeral scene of the woman where they find out Mare's mom was sleeping with the hubby, Mare's black friend and her family ... why ... and the time spend with very tired Mom and child in tub .... attention getter only and more wasted time.

Mare is in desperate need of help which is obvious ....... is her son's death tied up with all of this also .... her mom seems to be the only stable person in that family ... or is she .... next week we will find out.

The last episode looks to be another packed solid roller coaster ride and hopefully they wrap it up and life goes back to normal in Easttown.
