One Of The Paragons Of What Exactly This Holiday Is All About And Keeping Within The Spirit Of That.

Warning: Spoilers
This is the second For Better or For Worse special I checked out on Youtube months ago, back in February (the first being The Christmas Angel) and I enjoyed it as much as the one I saw before it. It contains the great message of having a heart for others. That everybody needs love for some reason or another.

This Valentine's special centers on a teen boy named Brad Luggsworth who, at first, seems to give another teen boy named Michael Patterson and his friends a hard time when he shows up at a Valentine's party at Michael and his family's home uninvited and unannounced. But later, it's realized that that was just his way of seeking attention. He wanted to be included and receive the notice he so desperately needed. This may not had been the best way for him to go about it, but he may had just been putting on such a tough exterior that makes him seem troubled or bad, because he was just not very good at expressing it another, better way or he just didn't want to admit it, or was too proud to admit it. It's found out that he yearned not to be excluded, because it had something to do with his dad not being around for him and he was hoping that others would instead. The others come around and they let him know that they truly do care for him. Michael's sister, Elizabeth, takes a shine to him and even makes him a Valentine gift. In the end, Brad isn't as bad as he originally seemed after all.

I haven't seen nor do I know of many Valentine's specials, but I consider this to be definitely among the best ever made, as well as among the best in general. Seeing the comic strip come to life on screen is great. All the characters are great. Everything about the visuals: Art style, animation, backgrounds, colors, and layouts are great. The soundtrack is great too, especially that one, musical number, "Lizzie's Song", a duet performed by Elizabeth's voice actress Lianne Picard-Poirier and the song's writer, Steve Parton. That's the greatest and most noteworthy thing I found about it. I'm unfamiliar with most of the cast (other than Terrence Scammell), but everybody sounded well-suited for their roles. This makes for the perfect viewing for all those who may have been in Brad's situation.

Sometimes it takes digging deep into your heart to discover that deep down, some people are actually better than they seem on the surface. Some people just need to have sympathy and compassion displayed to them. Anyone who doesn't feel this special after watching it, it can't be explained other than one must simply be heartless. Recommended.
