Really had high hopes for this series, and am always willing to give one hour shows plenty of leeway connecting the dots...But testing asphalt for a dripped/absorbed compound which narrows them down to 2 vehicles that's just too much. Close to bailing on this one...

Warning: Spoilers
I have to agree with Mschrock.
The fluid on the asphalt was too far-fetched, and another thing: when Amelia entered the dark house Lincoln had to switch on the night vision of the camera, because she said i can't see a thing. But she was wearing a very bright Flashlight !

I've finished watching all the episodes and this one. Where to start. Well typical Hollywood, they mess with the source. Lincoln has become black, Thom is replaced by a black female, Mel is gone and Sellito has become an in shape fashion plate. But even that would be okay if it wasn't for the horrendous police procedure.
First of all not once so far in the series has Amelia "walked the grid" in proper clothing. At either crime scene was the carpet where the blood is, is not taken in for analysis. She trods all over the carpet. Then like Lincoln, in the pilot, goes alone in a dark stairway without backup. For so-called professionals, they're anything but not.
They should take a lesson from the writers of "Bosch". Though there are slight changes in it, to allow for TV, they kept its soul. It was quite good how they integrated three novels with losing very little. This show is a train wreck and I've seen better train wrecks. Either get it together or get it off

Although this episode does not focus on the Bone Killer. Now back in New York, he makes a mistake.
The problem with moving premises is that the Bone Killer has to build a new basement for his experimental work. His wife finds some incriminating photos that the Bone Killer has not hidden well enough.
Lincoln investigates a case of a friend who has been accused of murdering his wife.
It leads to other cases where men might have been wrongly convicted of killing their spouses.
They all have something in common apart from being innocent. They have been framed and Lincoln homes in on the security systems of the houses.
It has becomes a bit of an old chestnut that the house security control can be remotely manipulated. Then again a lot of houses now have these Ring doorbells and Alexa type devices.
It does lead to another finale that owes a debt to Thomas Harris books. Amelia tackling the killer in the dark.
