Better as it goes along

At first I didn't think much then it became funny then it became interesting then it was dramatic then emotional and finally it was very violent. It really had everything you look for in a movie. It didn't need Hollywood stars to make it good. The story was good enough for any actor to work with. The ending isn't what I expected which makes it even more appealing. The Oscar had nothing to do with the Academy wanting to make history.

Diversity over enjoyment

Seriously? I found I was the only one laughing out loud at this drawn out, b&W, subtitled movie. Even the Koreans in the audience were mute. Yes, there are funny moments, but in the end it's a morality tale that's been told better elsewhere.

Foreign or not

I just couldn't get into this movie. I don't care if the Oscars are trying to make history by giving an Oscar to a Foreign country, if it was well worth is I would have not issue but I kept falling asleep with this movie. Really??? Best picture, I think not. The Joker was the movie of the year for me.
