Great show but...

For petes sake can you shut the dreadful Arthur Smith up? His constant yacking, reminiscent of the awful Wonnocot, completely spoils this show. Shut up you stupid man.

Watchable if only to see the ridiculous prices
craigjones-0677624 August 2021
This program just winds me up, from the overpriced restorations to the overpriced sale price. Let's face the people only buy the items so they can get their shop on TV. And don't get me started on Arthur Smith who ever writes the script needs firing. There is no one on the planet who is going to buy a single wooden chair with a pink leg for £150. This program is a disservice to the artisan people out there.

Sara man up

Sara needs to go to spec savers, she thinks every thing is beautiful. And to be honest the people who work on the items are overpriced, and do mostly rubbish, the only real artist is the Scottish welder . Beck's the so called welder, just picks the most expensive price out of the air, and Sara is always making excuses for her,by saying that there is a lot of hard work. You can see that Sara thinks some prices are too much, but her problem is she is too polite to tell them so. It is time she got a voice,. The other people who are too expensive are the two lads one is called ollie, there work is never worth what they quote, they only quote high because they know they will get away with it.

Totally dire

A fool and his money are soon parted and that certainly is repeatedly the case in this series. While the idea of recycling items which otherwise would go for landfill is laudable, the whole thing is frankly pitiful since the so-called experts are often mainly bodge artists who do not know how to use tools properly (and often dangerously), manage to charge ridiculously high prices which are rarely negotiated and the finished products can be so bizarre that the fact that they are sold for absurdly high prices is barely credible.

I get the feeling that many people on the programme find it hard to hide their embarrassment in being involved with it.

Arthur Smith is an odd choice for doing the voiceovers and is usually given a very corny script but I guess he's (quietly) laughing all the way to the bank.

I really can't see how this got past a pilot episode.

Really?
buglerj30 September 2023
Just seen an episode. Presenter/expert?? Sounded like Orville the duck. He found items at recycling centre and just passed on to some other "expert" renovator at the other end of the country. In this case someone who just sanded the item, stuck wallpaper or stencil on it and job done! Presenter returns, fawns all over the item and takes it away to sell. Couldn't the person who did the work sell it? Come on guys, you can do better than this. Us public can see through this straightaway. Too many people involved as is the case with way too many TV programmes of late. Way too many "presenters" who stutter and stumble their way through. Sometimes less is more.

contrived idea
raypelan19 July 2022
Items obviously arranged before hand picked up at a skip, renovated and sold -the owners door stepped and emotionally black mailed in donating profits to charity -Sarah in fact does very little in terms of physical work and every episode has the totally unfunny Arthur Smith droning on endlessly and trying to say the word Sarah as many times as he can.
