It is far from a classic
deickemeyer13 May 2018
Instead of titles in this picture there are used the lines of a poem by F.H. De Janvier. The "poetry" does not add to the effectiveness of the subject. It is far from a classic. Then, again, too large a proportion of the film is devoted to reading matter. Some of the scenes are good. An older and a taller man might have made a better Lincoln. - The Moving Picture World, February 28, 1914
