Some shows are uplifting... some I won't watch.
edda-0887820 December 2022
Seriously a multi millionaire has them surprise a future mother-in-law, a brother, best friends etc. I don't bother watching those. I love the shows and I give them a 10+ rating that show heartfelt gifts for working class people that are connected with these celebrities, one way or another. Shows like Snoop Doggs, Halle Berry, and John C Reilly's are examples of such uplifting shows. I'd love to see these celebrities, help their makeup people, or drivers as in Terry crews one, even a great landscaper that works for them. Especially in these days when working classes are having a hard time. Hope you guys start thinking out of the box.

Saving Cabinets Etc
conniesc-811934 January 2023
I love the show. However, I cringe every time they sledgehammer the cabinets and expensive granite counter tops. Bathroom vanities, fixtures, cabinets, counter tops can all be donated to Habitat for Humanity or other building organization. I live on a fixed income and I'm having to refurbish my entire house. I know first hand how expensive materials are. I can't even afford granite. Just try to keep in mind that the average person can't afford what you do. It's a slap in the face to folks like me. It seems such a waste to me. Just a suggestion.

Even touching at times

This show really works. Emotional and touching at times. Not all episodes work equally but this concept really works with the brothers and the celebrities chosen, as well as those they help.

Boring!
denise-8815229 June 2021
I truly love that celebrities want to "give back" to someone who means a great deal to them. But, the "Brothers" turn it into an opportunity to highlight themselves....blah, blah! Their desire to be actors is SO apparent while they constantly and consistently applaud themselves and their accomplishments. Guys, PLEASE stop the "it's all about us" dialogue ...it's old and boring!!!

Absolutely not
susansundaisy24 June 2022
I love Gwyneth paltrow and I buy her products and so she's the reason I watched.

I was almost embarrassed for her because they just kept repeating over and over how great she was and how wonderful she was and how it was wonderful that she came and helped and wasn't that so nice and she came and helped and isn't that great and she's helping and she's so wonderful lol

I felt like she was just being polite because it was really embarrassing and I thought I've learned nothing about decorating and I've just watched them tell a celebrity how wonderful they are.

The brothers are trying to make it seem like they do the work when they don't even have a fleck of dust in their hair. I just don't understand why they don't use a crew like every other show.

It does make you wonder why the celebrity would even agree to do it. I guess their agent makes them.

Absolutely Awful
katharineshowalter6 May 2020
Each episode contain about 15 minutes of actual content. The celebrity is dragged in to tell some legitimately poignant story, about 3 minutes worth, and the rest of the time it's the charmless Property Bros pretending that they actually do any of the design or any of the work. And then these two incredibly bland twins proceed to 1) repeat everything the celeb said several times; 2) turn every property into the same sterile-looking magazine ad; and 3) fail miserably at any kind of humor.

To late

These actors have millions and then waited till they could put the IOU on a TV show? Seems like they should of gave back to their friends years ago. I know I would have.

Insufferable celebrity worship circlejerk
Ken_ZomgWtfBbq9 August 2021
Watched the Gwenyth Paltrow episode, honestly one of the worst shows I have ever seen.

Just a constant flow of talking about how amazing the celeb is, and how much of a god they are for granting their peasant followers a renovation.

Absolute trash.

Warning: Spoilers
Whole hour of celebrities advertise themselfs. And then brothers advertise celebrities and talk about their greatness. There ia also some 'heartbreaking' story. God, those people are so detached from reality.

An hour of celebrity self indulgence.
Ken_ZomgWtfBbq16 August 2021
Two guys shower a celebrity in praise and stroke their ego, as they bless a lowly peasant worker a renovation.

Trash show, honestly pathetic tbh.

Couldn't make it thru a full show
nancylmarine30 June 2021
During the pandemic, celebrities showed the world just how tone deaf they are when it comes to the problems in this world. So, hey! Let's make yet another show giving us the chance to see just how "wonderful" they are!

Knowing the Property Brothers aren't actually doing any real work, knowing how they've been sued, time and time again, by former guests on their shows for shoddy work and failure to make actual repairs once that shoddy work is discovered, I don't know how these guys are still able to do a show.

Could it be the common folk in this country will no longer allow them into their homes because of said shoddy work so they had to take advantage of their connection to Zoey Deschanel to get in with Hollywood so they could actually get a show done?

Given how narcissistic Hollywood stars and starlets can be, I'm sure they pounced on the idea of a doing a show that's all about them and how amazing they are.

I couldn't make it thru the first show because of how unctuous and sycophantic these two are when in the presence of movie and television stars.

What?
I-LLBeTheJudge1 August 2021
Warning: Spoilers
So basically what they are doing is tearing down (probably) all the previous stuff and replacing it with new stuff. The owner even has no say in it. I am not comfortable with anyone even picking the color of my wall let alone paint it without me.

When you spent a large portion of your life in any place it becomes part of you. You get attached to each and every little thing. But you are telling me that people can't move to a new house coz the emotional attachment is there but are ok to replace all of their stuff with new items which are bright and shiny in what is left is the skeleton of previous house...all memories gone. In my opinion if you are going that far... might as well buy a new house or better yet build a new one in place of this one.

Also I am wondering if the previous items can be donated to someone...somewhere? Can't they just pull items carefully instead of tearing everything.

And the awkard thing is these brothers have the same idea often..."let's tear down the wall/kitchen wall to give you the view".

I don't get it. I don't mean to be disrespectful or rude here. I know people want to do a good thing and spread happiness and joy. But it just feels like charity by big celebrities. Like they are coming in and saying...get out of your house for a few weeks... i am going to change your house and you will have no say in it whatsoever coz it is a surprise... and you have to live with it for the rest of your lives... and i am going to demolish some things especially walls ... so if you want some me time in the kitchen or whatever you can't coz anyone can see you now and distract you...also there will be windows with clear views, you live in a society and any stranger can now spot you... and when you come back you will have to like it all even the colors coz i paid and will give it all to you on national television... and you can't change it coz it will make you look bad in front of others... enjoy.
