Heavy on a very topical tech danger-facial recognition run amuck-this episode was the best of the season so far. The dialog was quick but understandable, the tech smart-savvy, and this episode really let us get to know Breonna. The villain was well-written and well-acted, and lady Fed Marshal/possible love interest for Eliot was great and a perfect foil for him. The team and the story were tight - great balance of quirkiness and suspense. Really well done by all!!

Tech savvy?

The way this system ran everyone amd anyone in a facial recognizing system is actual being done in real life but not to the extent it was here. Great story telling and hitting on real life things. Not just pulling something out of the air.
Privacy Apocalypse

Warning: Spoilers
This #LeverageRedemption episode starts with a relocated domestic violence survivor being found by and scared of her ex. #Parker's puppet therapy, explained in the first episode of this series, and an evil clown memory from the original #Leverage series are interrupted by the frantic call. Parker demonstrates her new control and authority (gained over 8 years of Parker, Eliot, and Hardison working together as a team) when #EliotSpencer arrives worried, angry, and ready to take action. The topic of the start of the Privacy Apocalypse (identity recognition software enhancements and cameras everywhere) is given a light touch in this episode. I prefer talking about the team pairings and references to other #LeverageRedemption and #Leverage episodes. I loved the Eliot and Parker dynamic, which demonstrates their closeness through the shorthand they use with each other; no long verbal discussion needed, just a word each and they are in synch. #SophieDevereaux and #HarryWilson have a bit closer relationship building. I am liking the growing relationship between Eliot and #BreannaCasey in this episode, particularly when Breanna talks about SearchLight reminding each of us of our worst actions and days - Eliot definitely has lots of those days he doesn't want reminded. Breanna's statement, "fire solves all problems" reminds me of one of my favorite original #Leverage episodes, #TheRundownJob, where fire was needed to wipe out the weaponized virus. And then there's The Marshall. There's a good dynamic between Eliot and #MariaShipp, which is just beginning in this episode. That "relationship" brought about one of the funniest scenes in this episode: Eliot is being teased about his Marshall girlfriend's texts. Instead of getting mad, he merely says, "I'll give you 10 seconds to have fun with this." That is Eliot allowing himself to be a bit vulnerable in front of his family and friends. Great scene and good episode.

Warning: Spoilers
Yesss, at first I thought we'd have a reasonably good episode after the last two stinkers. First of all, BAM, the smoldering Andrea Navedo catches our screens on fire, then the Leverage team has to work extra hard to get out of a sticky spot. I really liked how they were not in control. Makes things exciting.
But then we get mired with plenty of head smacking moments, mostly revolving around the technical gibberish. Like an invisible, floating electric fence, saying there are no "visual security cables" so there aren't any security cameras (but there are!) and using a cheap AC clamp meter (CM-2033R, about $40) to pretend you're sniffing a fiber optic bundle for biometric scanners. Then with the entire smart house section of the episode things go off the rails with constant idiocy about an A. I.'s biometrics and even engine sounds from a Tesla...GAAH, STOP!!
Lastly, the entire premise ends up being mostly silly as they shut down clearly a brilliant guy who managed to reduce crime by a factor of 10, among other things. So it seems nobody wins here and we're just left confused as to what the entire point of this exercise was. Oh yeah, random bad cop abusing his data access. I guess this episode was a stinker too after all...
