Can a robot learn the difference between right and wrong?
Tweekums23 January 2013
Warning: Spoilers
This episode sees Sarah searching for mysterious blogger Alan Park who she learns about while trying to find out about the 'three dot' marking at a UFO convention. A woman named Eileen offers to help her find him; this will lead both of them in to danger. Meanwhile John and Cameron notice that somebody has hit Riley and neither really believes her story about walking into a door. In a series of flashbacks we see Jesse recruiting Riley and bringing her back to the present to give her a mission: to keep John and Cameron apart. Away from the Connor family Agent Ellison has been given the job of teaching ethics to the AI known as 'John Henry' for Catherine Weaver.

This episode has a decent amount of action during Sarah's part of the story; including a finale that will leave viewers keen to see what happens next as things are looking pretty bad for her. The activities with John, Riley and Cameron weren't as interesting but they told us a little more about Riley. Agent Ellison's part of the story was probably the smallest but it was fascinating to see how he would go about trying to teach ethics to a machine. It is surprising how gentle 'John Henry' seems when compared to Cromartie; the terminator whose body it is now using; Garret Dillahunt does a fine job portraying these different artificial intelligences in a subtly different way. Over all this was a decent episode which advanced the main plot more than some recent episodes have.

Only Happy When it Rains...

There's a hint of a link to a connection, through a UFO spotters convention, Abraham leads the way, but there's a price she has to pay, before Sarah makes three spots at close of play.

Everywhere Sarah goes people die

For someone trying to save the world, she's causing everyone she goes near to be killed. And she doesn't even seem to care either anymore. I agree with the other reviewer here that she's cracking and losing her mind. Even her son thinks she's nuts too.

Sarah's Loosing Her Mind

I can't comprehend things:

  • what James Ellison is doing? Did he not comprehend what will happens?
  • why going after a guy that found a very resistant metal? This metal now exists, so you can do nothing to end it. And this rises up many more things that are in these movies and show. The big one is: finding the perfect IA will be an inevitable human desire, right?
