After an absence of several episodes, Ruby finally gets some decent material here.It's a shame it means we have to say farewell to Pat although his actions show that he's more mature than Ruby's family think.There's a nice bit of repartee between Ruby and Annie which could be interesting in future.
Meanwhile, Ric and Mattie run into difficulties.It can be hard at times trying to remember who's in favour of what and Ric's attitude is a bit odd-if he explained the situation to Alf, he'd understand. Matilda seems to do a bit of an about turn in her attitude towards Ric but at least she's giving him an option whereas he's just closing things down flat.
All this and a new role for Kirsty.Her scene with the secretary is priceless-Kirsty's got ten years experience?Since she was eleven? Although the idea of her being completely computer illiterate seems odd.And we get some more background to Martin, who's apparently been there since Kirsty was a student.
