The End?
masonbernhardt26 June 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I sure hope not! What a season it's been full of laughs, action and surprising a lot of emotion. I told fans to wait and see how Ivy/Harley relationship would turn out because I knew there would be a big payoff! Payoff for both Kite Man and Harley! Kite Man finally isn't this super dumb( super funny) character, he finally grows and realizes Ivy doesn't love him as much as he loves Ivy. Like Kite Man said you saw Ivy's face during the vows and knew it wasn't going to happen. I'm just glad it was Kite Man who ended it finally having the balls to stand up for himself it was awesome! Clay face singing was brilliant and the car chase was an amazing callback. Not to mention the numerous DC cameos in this episode wow! Don't worry fans I'm pretty damn confident the show will get renewed because it's WAY to good not to. DC should put it on HBO Max so more people can watch it! Overall Season 2 was amazing and even better than S1, can't wait to see more of Harley and Ivy ASAP.

Exactly what you'd hope for out of a finale
will-schwartz26 June 2020
The wrap up for Season 2 of Harley Quinn has been rocky for some - relying on an overabundance of a perpetually beaten down lead character who is usually the focal point for the show's chaotic optimism, expansive gaps in logical plot progression, and resolutions to arcs that baffle the mind. For the record I have none of these problems with the show, but this is some of the concern I've seen.

That being said, ditching the engrossingly dramatic and over-the-top Darkseid/Dr. Psycho arc for the culmination of Kite Man and Ivy's wedding plans bring the show back to its roots. Our antiheroes are pitted against a mundane opponent in a ridiculous setting with the stakes being blown far out of proportion by both sides. This is where this show does so well! Commissioner Gordon is the perfect adversary to our leads because he's always overly eager to get his hands dirty, but never as prepared to do so as the equally energetic Harley.

Placing our superhero characters in scenarios that would incite violence for everyday people is a genius premise that has succeeded on this show time and time again (i.e. resort-riddled Themyscira, Tawny's talk-show, a college campus, the Penguin-family bar mitzvah, and now a rustic wedding venue). A bachelorette getaway, reality TV, frat parties, family gatherings, and marital unions are exactly the places you dread seeing your long-lost friend from high school or your estranged drunk uncle causing a scene that ruins everything, only in this world those scene-causers are Harley-frickin'-Quinn and Poison Ivy.

The scaled-down season finale (which might be the series finale, who knows) surprisingly brings old characters back into the fold while effortlessly bringing A-plots to a satisfying ending. While not everyone gets exactly what they want in the end, our characters will make it through.

Chaos is where these villains thrive and wether they get it now or later, they deserve the best.

Fine finale
jwwalrath-227-8548727 June 2020
A really emotionally satisfying finale. Plus Gordon continues to shine.

However, with the exception of the final scene, I can't say this is the best episode of the season (and that's only because an already high bar was set by the show.) I felt that King Shark and Clayface weren't properly utilized.

They finally did it
thesystem-3867610 August 2020
Warning: Spoilers
They actually did it. Harley x Ivy OFFICIALLY happened in this show...and it was in the last episode. And unlike in the comics, Ivy ACTUALLY wants to move forward in her relationship with Harley.

Too many times in comics, Ivy would only stay for few days then flake off to some place for months on end, because her protecting the environment was far more important than staying in one place and being with a Harley. So, this show automatically has THE best version of their relationship bar none.

Anyway, I love this episode, it definitely ended on a high note. And oddly this is one of the better series finale(?) I've seen in a long time. Harley was/is the better choice for Ivy. As Kiteman mentioned in his hilariously terrible wedding vows, Ivy was never truly into him at first, or even up to s2 ep3 ("Trapped") for that matter. He basically had to wear her down for her to even accept the whole concept of dating him.

Like someone else mentioned on a previous thread, Ivy was never truly into Kiteman. Ivy said in this episode, she more or less went with the flow of things.

In the first episode, Harley pointed out that Ivy had terrible taste in men-"Some reliable square who thinks he's "quirky" for playing on a Dodgeball team". Replace Dodgeball with Kite flying and you have Kiteman. He's more or less the same as her first boyfriend. The fact that this show foreshadowed this little tidbit from the first episode is kinda amazing.

And go back and watch every major moment in Kiteman x Ivy's relationship, and you can see how reluctant she was about everything: like being seen in public with him, or telling anyone she was in a relationship with him, or even Kiteman just proposing to her, she immediately panicked every time. It wasn't until later in that episode "Trapped", Harley had to convince her to give Kiteman a shot. Ivy was either pressured, guilt tripped, and talked into everything in that relationship. And oddly enough, you realized that Kiteman never really got to know Ivy. Yeah, they were together, but they never really "talked". And that realization hit her like a ton of bricks during the wedding vows. I mean c'mon, they've only been together for less than a year, marriage shouldn't even be on the table yet. At least, Kiteman finally knew to get off this ride. He did them both a favor and broke it off.

One of the writers of the show had interesting take on Ivy. He stated that since she never had anyone be nice to her in the past, she was extremely insecure. Once she met Harley, she was always afraid of losing her back to the Joker. She could not afford to give Harley her heart. The Scarecrow's toxin brought out Ivy's worst fear which was allowing herself to love Harley and in turn her leaving Ivy. When Kiteman came into the picture and was nice to her, she saw it as a way to assure that she would never be alone. She opted for the safer choice.

The most impressive thing about this show, Ivy's monologue about her feelings for Harley perfectly bookends this series, "Til Death Do Us Part" ended with Ivy being honest with how important her friendship with Harley was, and "Runaway Bridesmaid" ended with Ivy telling Harley how important just being together with her is, with the last line always stating that she loved her.

The only thing that kept this from being perfect was the runtime, this should have been an hour long, they could have fleshed out some more scenes, added more character moments, but they did well with the runtime they had. And for the love of god, there needs to be another season (or three).

But if this is the end, it's a good end. Far better than what any comic book would ever give these two.

Season Two Review
southdavid26 August 2021
Though I liked the first season of "Harley Quinn" I thought that it could be improved by being a little less convinced that swearing with these characters in and of itself was funny, and that if the wrote a few more jokes and observations to go with that creative freedom then I'd like the show a lot more. The second season, in my opinion, does just that. Much funnier, much more observational humour about the Batman universe and a better season arc.

Much to Harley's (Kaley Cuoco) chagrin, Gotham is deemed as no longer being part of the United States, and with Batman decommissioned and the Justice League gone, a cabal of villains see fit to carve up the city into their own territories. Harley though decides to overthrow each of them, and reunite the city under her control. Though her team are behind her, Dr Psycho (Tony Hale) is concerned that Harley is no longer as villainous as she once was and that she's distracted by her increasing closeness to Ivy (Lake Bell).

The season really did do exactly what I was hoping for, took what was a reasonably good series up to the next level by improving the writing. Many more jokes based of bits of character story that we've seen of the characters in other mediums, particularly the films. The vocal work is still really good, with particular praise for Alan Tudyk's Clayface, James Adomian's Bane and Lake Bell's Poison Ivy.

I really liked the season arc's this time too, the inevitability of Harley and Ivy's love affair and the way that they keep showing us little bits of her relationship with Kiteman, just so we understand that relationship is actually reasonably good and why Ivy is torn between them both. It also seeds Dr Psycho's storyline well, showing him missing from adventures and becoming disillusioned with his boss.

Season three is now confirmed, it would be nice if we didn't have to wait a year again on this side of the Atlantic, but either way, I'm looking forward to it.

Weakest episode of this season
qiwichupa28 June 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Well, I think they just ruined the whole development of the relationship for 2 seasons for the sake of stupid fan-service. The most stupid and spontaneous ending, which they try to sell as believable.

A weak finale that could kill the series.
EddyTheMartian0075 July 2020
Warning: Spoilers
After the insanity of the last few episodes, we're back to normal. Ivy and Kiteman are going to get married, and Harley is dealing with her mistakes in Arkham. Despite all its flaws this series continues to be enjoyable, and funny, though the laughs are dialed down a little this episode. This is really an episode about Ivy, Kiteman and Harley trying to workout their emotions.

Starting off like most episodes this season, disregarding the ending of the last episode where it isn't explained why only Psycho and Harley were arrested and not the others. Regardless I liked seeing the repercussions of last episodes twist ending. There were some good scenes between all of these characters. I really liked how Harley didn't want to leave Arkham incase she would ruin Ivy's wedding. Meanwhile Gordon gets the idea to arrest all the villains attending the funeral from Two-Face... wow an actual good idea?! I'm still questioning why villains can have a wedding with more villains and not be reported, but okay. And Two face tells that to Harley causing her to escape.

The Gordon side of the episode was quite funny and engaging. It's been a while since he has done much of importance. The whole thing about him not getting a Key to the city is pretty funny, and good motivation for this Gordon. It's a pretty solid plan too, they change all the flowers to plastic, get knockout gas, I mean it seems perfect! Meanwhile Harley's is causing trouble in Ivy's marriage because she wants to stop Gordon, and it gives a great scene where Ivy tells Harley to leave. I really like Kiteman this episode. They made him feel a bit more like a real person. Harley comes back though when she notices the flowers are actually plastic.

Now onto the big confrontation. Ivy and Kiteman are about to get married, but BOOM Gordon reveals himself, gasses the room and everyone is down, except Harley of course who got one of the cop's masks. This scene should've been intense but it was just wasn't well directed, it felt weirdly slow. Then we get one of the stupidest moments in the entire series. There's Literally multiple cops with guns surrounding Harley as she beats Gordon, takes a rocket launcher, shoots it blowing up the ceiling, releasing the gas. Everyone instantly wakes up, and it's over.

Clayface beautifully sings as this episode begins to wrap up. We get one of the best character moments on the series. Kiteman grows as a character and decides to leave Ivy. That's right, Kiteman does the hard decision and leaves his toxic relationship with Ivy, and is the only developed and morally good character. Meanwhile Harley and Ivy's characters regress to be in their forced lazily written relationship. Of course Ivy loved her all along. She doesn't even need a period to be alone or think about it, she's instantly together with Harley. That's basically it. The other side characters are forgotten, they literally run over Clayface. It just shows what this series has become. Lazy, contrived, contradictory writing for Ivy and Harley to be together, while ignoring all the other characters. Honestly I just don't care anymore. It literally took me over a week to finish this review because I just lost interest in this show. I can't enjoy it if the writing continues to be lazy, and the 2 lead characters have become unlikable. Once again I am NOT against the Harley and Ivy relationship. I knew it would happen, and to be honest I wanted it to happen. However, it was badly executed. If there's a third season I hope it improves. I'll still watch it, but I'm really disappointed with this season. I wouldn't even call this season bad overall though because the first half was still great, but the second half was terrible. Overall I think this season is about a 5/10, coming from the first season which was an 8.5/10... I just hope if season 3 happens it improves.

The most "Okay" finale.
spamfakefor27 June 2020
Don't expect a grand finale as this felt like any other episode. I felt this had some pacing issues, lacked good comedy and some decisions were just...bad. I think some of the middle episodes were better than this.
