Home and Away goes high concept, not always a good idea. The stuff with Geoff and Nicole on the island is actually quite good, mainly because it's based around characters rather than stunts, despite some fancy camera-work to show they're out on location. It would be nice to have an explanation as to how they actually ended up there though. And for why Geoff feels the need to take his shirt off.
This is marred slightly by the silliness Roman is forced to endure, being chased around by a guy with a bow and arrow and a...bleeping thing.Paul Pantano unfortunately turns out to be better at playing subtly menacing villain than he does at Bond mastermind but the character is drawn in such broad strokes it's hard to imagine what he could do differently. It's nice that Annie seems to have grown a backbone recently, standing up to Irene.
Elsewhere, there's more heartache for Jack and Martha. The opening shot of them with a baby, until we realise Martha is hallucinating, is a nice trick.Let's just hope that's it for this increasingly tortured couple and they can now get Martha well and get on with things.
