Over the past few years, I have become heavily immersed in K-content and K-dramas on a personal and professional level. Many hours have been spent watching the same perfectly executed tropes in various genres, from crime thrillers to romance K-dramas. Some dramas have won my heart and become favorites, like the teen romance True Beauty. But there is no denying that not all K-dramas were spectacular. K-dramas like Inspector Koo and a few others did not hold my interest and were unfinished.
Unfinished K-dramas ‘Inspector Koo,’ ‘Forecasting Love and Weather,’ and ‘Bad and Crazy’ | via Jtbc ‘Inspector Koo’ lacked the riveting edge of a murder mystery
It is not often that a crime K-drama has a female character as the heinous killer. The 2021 Netflix K-drama Inspector Koo made me excited as two female actors would lead the storyline. The storyline had a fun quirkiness that seemed like a good investment.

It was very late at night in Korea when Wi Ha-jun popped on a video call to chat with Deadline about his role in Netflix’s mega hit Squid Game, and how his life has been turned upside down since the Korean-language series entered the cultural stratosphere last month.
For those who live under a rock, Squid Game is a survival drama set in Seoul, where hundreds of financially strapped contestants signed away their life rights to play children’s games for a chance at winning a $38 million grand prize. Lose any round and be prepared for a grisly death.
Since debuting last month, the series directed by Hwang Dong-hyuk quickly reached No. 1 on Netflix in 90 countries within its first 10 days. Currently, Squid Game is on track to become Netflix’s biggest non-English-language series and possibly supplant Bridgerton’s as the streamer’s biggest show of all time.

Body swap movies have been with us for as long as we can remember. In the original Freaky Friday from 1977, Jodie Foster's character switches places with her mom, played by Barbara Harris. In 18 Again!, it's a grandfather and his grandson. The switch always differs. It can be because of a car accident, magical potion, or a wish cast during the full moon. It can also be a demonic ritual involving a mystical blade – that's what happens in Freaky where a teenage girl switches bodies with a serial killer. This horror comedy, directed by Christopher Landon (of both Happy Death Days), written by Michael Kennedy (Fox's "Bordertown") and Landon, is a bloody feast for every slasher fan, packed with inventive deaths and campy characters. It's Friday the 13th, and for Millie (Kathryn Newton), it's just another ordinary day in high school. After her father's passing, she helps her mom,...

I grew up in the era of the body-swap movie, the 1980s, where a resurgence in the genre led to films like Big, Vice Versa, 18 Again, Like Father Like Son, and my personal favourite (and one of my Top 5 films of all time) Dream a Little Dream. Since then there have been a myriad of such films, be they family friendly like 13 Going on 30 and the Lindsay Lohan-starring Freaky Friday remake; to more raunchy fare like The Change-Up and The Hot Chick… Most have one thing in common: the characters within learn from the situation. Switched is no different, however never have I ever experienced a body swap film like this one.
