a mother. her son
Kirpianuscus11 September 2021
For many reasons, a surprising film. For minimalism, game of tension, for admirable performance of Pauline McLynne, for the atmosphere and fantastic dialogue. But, especially, for the so familiar aspects from many families.

A man, his mother at dinner. The absence of his sister. And the authoritarian lady fixing all the details. His confession and her absolutely surprising reaction to the words of her son.

The force of this splendid short film is result of its high realism. Because a mother knows. Always. But her silence, so wonderful explained in film remains the great heart of the hope and noble expression of love. I feel each reaction of the character proposed by Paul Sloss as mine. And that makes things heavy and easy. Short, just a great film.
