it's just a little... boring?
harrymoorman15 May 2022
I'm trying to like it, but it's just so meh. Visually it's nice, the score is good too, but i'm 1/4 in now and the story has absolutely no grip on me

it was always going to be compared against normal people, and whilst there are areas that are - very - similar, it is just nowhere near as good/interesting/gripping, which is a shame

i hope that it picks up.

This Episode Was Slightly Better Than The Last One

Warning: Spoilers
This episode was a little faster paced than the last one. I was more into it and payed closer attention. Last episode I didn't feel like I would miss much if I looked away for a while , like when texting someone or something.

The plot gets a little more intricate. I like that. I feel like none of the things that happened or were said were fillers. I felt like there was a purpose to everything going on.

Even though it still felt like there are things in dialogue that could be better written, I enjoyed it all enough to keep me intrigued for future episodes.

I would give the episode a 7/10 as I did last one, however It does deserve a 9 solely for the sex scene at the beginning. The moment right after they are "done", [link=nm2519720 was superb! I knew there would be a moment were she would show of her acting skills! I have never seen this actress before in anything else, but I already know from that scene she will do great things! Her acting alone is the reason for my 9. I can't wait to see another magnificent performance from her in later episodes! Very promising actress!

I have hopes for better and even mind-blowing episodes, even though I am not totally impressed by much of what has happened in the past.

But, why?

Most of the actors are excellent. (I'm not too fond of the Bobbi character. She a bit too nosey and annoying.) And despite the other, mostly solid, performances, I can't understand why Nick is attracted to Francis. He could probably have a shot with half the women in his city. So, what is it? Is he trying to get revenge on his cheating wife by sleeping with a woman who also sleeps with other women? I just don't see a real connection between Nick and Francis. Maybe the motives will become clearer as the show moves on. But right now I'm wondering what has happened to Nick's wife Melissa? The story is falling down for me because Melissa's not there to give us guidance on her relationship with Nick, from her POV. I'm sticking with it for now.
