When Eddie comes home from work, he finds Joan wearing an Afro-Caribbean wig, making her resemble Barbie. While they argue in the kitchen, Bill walks in and, mistaking her for his wife, gives her a loving cuddle. All hell breaks loose.
Down at the club, Jacko returns after a holiday, bringing with him a young lady he says he intends to marry - Amy ( Sue Bond ). Amy is a blonde bombshell who looks as though she could eat him for breakfast. As his best friend, Eddie decides to tell him she just is not suitable for him...
A nice episode, putting Keith Marsh's flat-capped, mackintosh-wearing miser 'Jacko' in the spotlight for once. Why any woman in her right mind would want to marry him is a mystery. Joan says she was at school with Amy, and she was a bit of a tearaway. Maybe Jacko has given the impression he is secretly loaded with money ( and so he should be after failing to stand a round in virtually every episode ).
Sexy Sue Bond had earlier appeared as an unnamed barmaid in Episode 5 Season 1. She cropped up several times in 'The Benny Hill Show' ( its her bottom we see sliding down that fire mans' pole in slow motion ) and the Freddie Francis-directed horror picture 'The Creeping Flesh' ( 1972 ).
Funniest moment - thinking Jacko has drowned himself in the canal, Eddie goes in after him, falling head-first in the filthy-looking water. Nobby goes in too. Then Jacko reappears alive and on dry land!
