I thought they would nail this one like in "Back to the Pilot" season 10. This was far better than the last episode though, I read the premise and had high hopes, but it turned out not so great. It's obvious that FG and Simpsons are improving recently.

It's a solid episode

This episode wasn't as great as it could've been, but it was still a fun ride. There were some good jokes, and I appreciated seeing cutaways from the older seasons but with updated animation. Peter and Lois were also great in this episode, glad they didn't resort to all the played out "dying marriage" jokes. They could've done more with the plot, but it was still good as is.
A Attempt

Okay this kinda felt like a late season attempt of back to the multiverse but with peter and Lois they put in effort but kinda basic it was enough to enjoy i didnt hate it l liked the 2 or 3 call backs they gave but the modern feel of long dragged out boring jokes that try to be relatable but the cutaway part was quite nice to see it steps away from the normal plot and makes 22mins out of 5 to 50 second clips so not bad good but not wonderful
Good but could of been better

I'm surprised that it took them 19 seasons to do something like this, after Peter and Lois start a cutaway at the same time they're sent to CutawayLand and it's a bunch of cutaway gags and has some neat call backs, but I wish it was pushed further (idk how but I see some missed potential, like it could of been way better) overall a good episode but could of been a way better episode ( like a 9)
An Admirable Failure

The writers certainly get credit for at least trying something different, but it never materializes into anything particularly interesting or funny. The jokes don't really land and the plot wears thin fairly quickly. Another mediocre offering, but I do encourage them to continue experimenting. This is the first time in a long time I've been excited for a Family Guy episode and even if it didn't live up to the hype, it's a start.
Pretty cool episode!

So I just watched this episode today and I loved it in my opinion.
Peter and Lois get transported to a cutaway that they set up at the same time. What I really like about this episode is the different cutaways they transport to. They even cut to the You Got Aids song Peter sings
And then when they try to go back home, they accidentally bring along Chris, Meg, Stewie, and Brian, so now they're stuck with them. And the solution was decent by killing Hitler in the cutaway where he works out in a gym.
But this episode isn't the best of the series of course. There were a few scenes I didn't like. Like the pointless ending. After they transport themselves back to home, it turns out Peter was just dreaming the whole time. Really that could've been cut out and it would've been the same. And Peter saying his kids suck.
But those are some nitpicks, I think this is one of the better episodes of the new episodes of Family Guy.

Worst Episode Ever

One of the best episodes of season 19.

This episode was very funny and the social commentary on how Family Guy pokes fun at itself with its usage of cutaways and long gags to piss off certain people who constantly complain about the show's structure of story telling. It was truly interesting and unusual.

Another episode that falls flat. Technically, this is a flashback episode. No one asked for that. This episode had so much potential, but only had a few laughs and fewer creative ideas. Loved the Rupert episode this season tho. Simpsons TOH 31 was far better and had far more jokes and creative ideas. Usually FG is just alright like modern Simpsons, but this one reminded me of the crummier episodes.

Swing and a miss
dmey-067244 November 2020
I would summarize this episode as having a great premise but sadly, the writing staff quickly ran out of ideas and resorted to their worst instincts--Long and drawn out jokes with weak punchlines, repeating the same joke over and over when it wasn't funny the first time, and lazy pop culture references, because they needed to fill up 21 minutes and 30 seconds of air time and couldn't do it by coming up with decent material.
I'd file it away at the low end of the mediocre episodes.
This episode had so much potential but they failed to deliver. The novelty of this episode was played out after about the third cutaway. The writers seemed like they were unable to decide if all the cutaways should be new or if this should just be a flashback episode where they comment on past gags in the style of the back to the pilot episode. The subplot about the kids throwing a party was asinine.
Unfortunately, their writers still think it's funny to have long drawn out jokes, like lois taking out garbage at the beach. They had a great idea... it's too bad it was wasted by bad writing.

Loved the callbacks

I'll admit when I saw the summary for this episode I wasn't quite sure how this episode would work but it really does, fresh, different and funny plus the callbacks to earlier cutaways was hilarious and I found myself laughing alot very well entertained!
