I like this show but...
benswindin-4103515 October 2021
I'm not an anti vaxer, I have had the covid vaccine. But that doesn't mean I enjoy political messages being thrown at me in a tv show. I just find it poor writing more than anything. I didn't hate the episode but it just feels like it's lost a lot of potential by making it about pushing views instead of telling a story effectively. The ending result of having this anti vaxer storyline becomes far more of a cringe fest than anything powerful. Anyway I like the episode and I'm sure the next episode will fix the missteps of this one.

I wondered why this one scored so low.
pj-13629 June 2022
Admittedly it's not the greatest storyline in the show, and it did feel forced together so loses a few points for that. But for those reading reviews, it's triggered some reactionary individuals into giving scores of 1 or 2. Disregard the noise and continue as normal.

It's filler, it's oddly written, but it's not a 1/10.

Ignore the other reviews.

Warning: Spoilers
Lots of anti-vax folks on here complaining that this show accurately depicts the consequences of their stupidity. Then have the nerve to call pro-vaccine folks "snowflakes". This was a good episode folks and leaves me excited for the next one.

The great thing about You is that it depicts horrible characters like Joe and Love literally being terrible people, but let's the audience join with them in their triumphs. You genuinely feel good about these two that they don't frame the neighbor's husband - and you get a warm feeling that good won out over evil. But you are living with them in their delusions. It's a reminder that we do this all the time. I know I'm explaining the obvious - this concept is what the whole show is about - and you all get it, otherwise you wouldn't be watching. That being said, this episode has some great moments of exactly this.

Other reviewers on here are upset that the writers are apparently being too "political". Well guess what, vaccines shouldn't be political. They are a medical and scientific wonder that a particular political group have made political. A guess what - anti-vaxxers are responsible for a resurgence of measles which occurred well before the current pandemic, which is what this episode is about. Not covid. If you are so offended by that, then TV isn't for you.

Last minute, unrelated shoehorn
The_Monte_Carlo17 October 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This show had brilliant writing when it focused on the story. This, however, had nothing to do with the story. It doesn't progress the plot whatsoever. The season would've been better off without it and had you skipped this episode, the story would've remained the same. It is obvious this was never planned in the original plot-line of the show and only serves as a weak argument that will never change an anti-vaxer's mind. If anything, this only makes people who argue for unconstituional mandates for an experimental medical procedure from corporations who cannot be sued look awful. She literally murdered someone over it. 40 minutes of my life I'll never get back. What the hell was that, Netflix?

Mad Anti-Vaxxers
blakejelus19 October 2021
Warning: Spoilers
They've constantly made jabs and jokes about the woke, liberal californians and it's funny. The minute the bring up vaccines all the anti-vaxxers start crying don't be political. Don't trust those reviews, so far the show is really good.

This has several hilarious moments
deedress16 October 2021
You can't take this show too seriously. I'm sure the writers were intentional when they put in the line, "We're better than this" They knew we the viewers would say, in unison, "No you're not!!". I watch for those moments. Very cleverly placed throughout the whole series.

Love to see all these babies
mangospider17 October 2021
The same people that are clutching their pearls over a vaccine storyline- which is completely relevant to a tale about an affluent Cali town- were probably hurling death threats last week at the people defending the trans folks that Dave Chappelle crapped on. It's so rich.

Rooting for baby Henry
cjonesas28 December 2021
A useless filler episode full of mumbo jumbo, medical or not, right or wrong, the screenplay doesn't belong to "You". So far, this season is a mess, completely lacking the thrill and sense of dread the previous two had.

Papa doesn't know what to do, mama is a boring mess and baby Henry is by far the star of this season.

Good episode
jaamargus31 October 2021
So anti-vaxxers are giving 1s because TV show had an anti-vax topic innit. I bet you would have been giving 10 star reviews if the show would had shown anti vaxxers as saviours of the world.

The episode was great, don't mind the antivaxxers propaganda and tears!

The first couple episodes were so good...
ethanhi9 November 2021
The first couple episodes of the season weren't perfect but very excited and were very excellent at ramping up the tension. However, it all comes to a halt in this episode. The episode turns into an ad for vaccinations and uses it extremely poorly and just as a brief intermission from what's been building in the early part of this season. I don't hate social commentary, I think it can be very important for the audience but only if it's done right. This episode did not do it right; social commentary has to be subtle, it can't be thrown in the face of the viewer in the most obvious way possible. And when you have every character in the show asking each other if they have been vaccinated at least 5 times each, it's pretty easy to understand what the writers were trying to get at. It's disappointing that such a promising show has turned into shoveling the writers opinions and beliefs down the audiences throats. I hope the show will pick back up after this disappointing intermission of an episode.

Why?
manchobi15 October 2021
Enjoying the new season until out of completely nowhere an antivax storyline literally forced in. Even as someone fully vaccinated I found it insulting and cringe. Don't.

Don't let the negative reviews fool you. Fantastic episode
dylanjakerichmond29 October 2021
Oh man. This was just great. People are mad about the last 2 minutes of the episode and that's ok. But this whole episode was a joy to watch. Good writing, acting, and character work as usual.

An average episode. Although, I gotta point out one rookie mistake - around 6:23 Saffron is talking on the phone, but we can see the phone menu. Other than that, it's all fine.

WTF????
Riddler9116 October 2021
Warning: Spoilers
What was this? I mean, I'm vaccinated and all but is this really necessary? This isn't "educating" anyone, if anything it probably makes some people even more skeptical of vaccines because no one likes when pompous writers think they're clever enough to preach people and it ends up just rubbing it in people's faces. But I guess that is the point, some people really are that narcissistic.

Wanted light entertainment, got a vaccine rant instead
nadiascholte128 October 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I love this show. That's why I started watching season 3. Then why do I get a long rant on vaccinations (obviously bc of covid) when I just want to watch two crazy murderers? It seems forced. Suddenly they of all people know what's best for your health? Disappointed and dissatisfied. Hopefully the next episodes will be like season 1&2.

Just to be clear: I'm only against shoving opinions in peoples faces while watching a fictional show. I want to escape reality when watching these kind of shows.

This episode has pissed off the anti-vaxxers it seems
I absolutely love how many idiots are in these reviews complaining about this being a political episode or an 'offensive attack' against these dumbasses; this is a very feasible episode in that not being vaccinated and not having your children vaccinated is a health risk to everyone around you, whether vaccinated or not.

The episode also serves to highlight Joe and Love as being outliers in their community whilst also starting to build the relationship between Love and the neighbour's son, as well as potentially setting Joe up for disaster with the woman who runs the local library.

Great episode both for hurting the feelings of pro-disease morons and for adding to the show.

Warning: Spoilers
This episode begins with Love and Joe, Henry wakes them early in the morning. Henry has been infected with COVID-19. Joe has the measles. Henry is okay, Joe is relieved. Love knocks down Gil with an axe. Nice Episode of You Season 3, what a shocking end. Love killed again, can Joe stop her?

When they need to try this hard...
harris-ryan-10116 October 2021
Great series but I don't know how people can ignore the obvious propaganda being pushed here. There was no need to throw vaccine controversy into the storyline. Why does Hollywood have to work in these political stances in everything they do nowadays? This should alarm you regardless of your opinion on the matter.

Vaccinations are good- but this felt very out of place.
trristen20 October 2021
I'm not too sure how to feel about this one. I believe in science and I am double vaccinated, but this was so out of place.

It had no payoff or relation to the story and it seems quite strange to alienate a lot of your audience when you're seemingly trying to make them sympathize with murderers.

My low rating isn't completely about the vaccine plot line as much as it's about how it had no pay off in whatsoever. Consider this a filler episode?

Can we keep TV, TV?
oliviacroslin16 October 2021
Honestly I was so excited for the new season of you because I thought it would help me escape from the reality of the world for ten episodes. Low and behold the storyline had to incorporate vaccines and anti-vaxxers. If i wanted to watch anything regarding that matter I would have turned on the news channel. C'mon Netflix, keep that stuff out of tv shows.

Hermione150718 October 2021
Been loving this show, but this crosses a line. Stop pushing a political agenda. Such a blatant and unnecessary anti-vaxxer plot line that had nothing to do with the show. I'm so tired of everything being surrounded by nothing but political opinions, shows are one thing I don't usually worry about that with.

They lost me after "braindead anti-vaxxer"
jnimdb9927 October 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I'm not sure which was worse, the absurd title or the repeated references to "braindead anti-vaxxers." And I'm double vaccinated; however, I have an aversion to aggressive political rhetoric and pompous moralizing, particularly when it comes from Hollywood. Please just entertain me and leave your politics at the door.

But when you strip away the political nonsense and pointless vaccine-shaming, all you're left with is a subpar episode. I miss the thrills of the first two seasons; please bring them back next year.

Seriously??
aalexander-7832916 October 2021
Nobody wants to watch this for political agenda. It's a great show but this is completely uncalled for and ridiculous. As seen by a lot of the other comments most people agree. Just no need for it in a show like this.

Unnecessary Measles Plot
steve-527-80002316 October 2021
The entire measles plot is a clear example of this show getting political and taking a side. Many people are watching this to escape from all the covid and political talk, so I'm not sure why they'd even go there. I'd think that the show's creators wouldn't want to divide the audience like this, but sadly it's become all too common.

Hopefully the rest of the season drops the political bs.

Another show alienating half it's audience.
lremington3516 October 2021
I can't seem to find a show that just wants to entertain without going political. I'm over it. I watched the new show 'Y: The Last Man' and a couple episodes in they're talking anti-vaxers and put down Christian's. Smart writers would find a way to say it without saying it. And in this episode we escalate to violence of someone who shares a different opinion. Why is Hollywood hell bent on losing half their audience. I truly don't get it.
