The end of 1994 is fast approaching and things are not looking good for the Nesbitts. Rab has been forced to give up drinking following a serious health scare ( his liver exploded ) and Mary has warned him that she will leave him if he goes back on the drink.

Gash feels so down in the dumps he prepares to kill himself by throwing himself off a bridge, that is until he witnesses a young girl being attacked by a mugger. This is Mo, a young Irish girl who has done a runner from her flat after failing to pay the rent. After rescuing her from the mugger, Gash takes pity on her and invites her to stay in the Nesbitt household. Rab is amenable but Mary is none too keen. Gash and Mo end up growing fond of each other and prepare to wed. Rab and Mary meet Mo's parents Stag and June to discuss the wedding arrangements. They turn out to be even more common than Rab and Mary!

Meanwhile, Jamesie has problems of his own when he discovers Ella is having an affair with young toy boy Donny.

Despite being labelled as a Christmas special, there is nothing festive on show here, not even so much as a Christmas tree but 'More' is a good little episode nonetheless. Veronica Leer brightens up the episode as Mo, and looks very sexy in tights and a mini skirt. Watch the moment where she crosses her legs in the taxi. It was a wonderful moment ( for me it was anyway ). 'Down Among The Big Boys' actor Douglas Henshall, in a rare sitcom appearance, plays Donny. Jon Morrison and Francine Mulrooney also are funny as Mo's parents, particularly Jon Morrison who as Stag empathises with Rab due to being unable to fight his own demons with the drink.

Gash doesn't make it to the altar with Mo unfortunately. She ends up running off with Donny. The door was open for another series, and, a year and a half later, a fifth series appeared. No mention was ever of Rab's alcohol battle again until the 2008 Christmas special 'Clean'.

Funniest bit - in the pub, Jamesie, desperate to prove his manhood, requests a drink from Rab's glass. Norrie tries to move it from the gantry but it won't budge. Rab walks in and casually calls out to his glass as if calling a dog, at which point the glass levitates from the gantry and into Rab's hand!
