good one

It's been a while since I binge watch a show.

And Bosch is the lucky one that made me watch one episode after the other.

Good stuff and hopefully we keep getting more action.

In the Crosshairs

Warning: Spoilers
Violence reigns. Maddie and the others are ambushed in the courthouse parking ramp. J. Edgar returns to work. The judge who was to hear the case is found dead after being kidnapped. All the suspects are now lined up. The woman Bosch trusted becomes a significant piece of the puzzle. Forces are at work in every direction and it will be interesting to see how this all plays out in the final two.

Some satisfying character moments

Can Bosch get Maddie to court before the hitman intercedes?

This is a solid episode that has some suspenseful moments of action and character drama. I cannot give details without spoiling, but it is safe to say that events involving Maddie are the highlight of the episode for me. Several characters are used well by the writers in the associated scenes.

The Billets subplot is reasonably okay. However, it feels a bit forced into the plot as an unsubtle way to address the issue. I appreciate that workplace harassment is an important situation to tackle, but when you contrast this with the murder of children and the justice associated with various heinous violent crimes, the stakes feel distractingly lower.

It is a 7.5/10 for me but I round upwards.

Tight story, flat story, uneven episode.

The lead story with Maddie and the assassin is tight and well written, nicely paced, J. Edgar gets some salvation, attempting to make good after failing Bosch and the team due to his unresolved issues from the shooting. This story really moved the episode along. Watching Maddie go through the emotional turmoil over the oss of her mother was heart-breaking, but it verged on the edge of the 'all guns bad' theme.

The Lt. Billets story line is flat, tossing around the 'incel' term (really, Cops as incels? With 'badge bunnies, etc? Not likely.), and the fact they're in LA, which runs a close second to San Francisco with the alphabet community. Seems the writers were looking to score some 'woke points' ad it's about a decade too late.

Yep. The Greater Good.

Love the great opening shots of the LA skyline at night.

Uh oh...getting rid of some loose ends......

I gotta feeling that I can't let go.

So they wrap the hitman sent out to get Maddie. That was a letdown sequence.

The feds, meddling in the investigation of the city cops of course all in the name of the 'greater good'.

But overall this was one of the weaker episodes. 6/10.
