8. Zootropolis
Two films made me near spill my guts laughing in 2016. Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping was one, a film that bombed hard in the Us, and got a very brief release in UK cinemas. I know people who didn’t like, but I can foresee me watching it regularly in years to come.
Not as much as I’m planning to watch Zootropolis, though. Both of Walt Disney Animation Studios’ releases this year were excellent,...

The first trailer for Transformers: The Last Knight has landed. See it right here...
As promised, the first trailer for the fifth Transformers film, Transformers: The Last Knight, has been released, giving us a glimpse at what director Michael Bay has been up to next. Mark Wahlberg returns to take the lead (well, behind a bunch of CG robots), and here's what's in store...
Here too is an IMAX featurette, that was released in November...
From September Here's something nice for a Friday.
A new featurette has been released for Michael Bay’s currently-filming sequel, Transformers: The Last Knight. And this one gives us a look at just what Sit Anthony Hopkins might be up to in the movie. It certainly gives us a glimpse at his character.
It also shines the light on Freya the dog. You may remember Freya came to the attention of the...

Seth Rogen, Paul Rudd, Kristen Wiig and more line up to lend their voices to Sausage Party. Here's the first trailer...
Arriving in cinemas in August is a new animated film in part from the pen of Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg (The Interview). It goes by the name of Sausage Party, and the pair wrote the movie in conjunction with Kyle Hunter and Ariel Shaffir. Greg Tiernan and Conrad Vernon have directed it.
The film is about one sausage, and his quest to discover why he exists in the first place. And it's an R-rated production, with a voice cast the includes Rogen himself alongside Kristen Wiig, Paul Rudd, Jonah Hill, James Franco, Salma Hayek, Edward Norton, Bill Hader, Danny McBride, Michael Cera and Craig Robinson.

We chatted to the Impractical Jokers about the TV and live shows, pranking and Jason Statham. Fair warning, things got foul-mouthed...
This one got away from me.
The cast of the television show Impractical Jokers (Sal Volcano, Joe Gatto, Brian ‘Q’ Quinn and James ‘Murr’ Murray) were in London for their first ever live UK performances and Den of Geek had managed to grab a little time with them ahead of the shows. In our excitement over what we expected would be a fun interview we had failed to consider the possible difficulties.
It turns out that interviewing four comedians at the same time is hard work. Typing up my recording afterwards was like trying to transcribe a riot. If a regular interview is like fishing (it’s not) then interviewing the Impractical Jokers was like attempting to lasso four octopuses with the same piece of rope.

If you’ve listened to a lot of Tindersticks — or seen almost any Claire Denis movie — you might agree that few contemporary bands so deserve a visual album. Marked by enigmatic lyrics, opulent production, and weighty arrangements, their songs create vivid images of longing, pain, and atmosphere — like a series of unrequited romances playing out inside the most densely populated and well-lit French café. Needless to say, their new album, The Waiting Room, caught my attention for taking just that approach.
Ahead of an official release on January 22, Tindersticks have debuted their album and full, 51-minute video project on NPR. Several international artists (including Denis and frontman Stuart A. Staples) have directing credits, each operating under the rule that their works “should attempt not to describe the music, but to create a visual counter-point, a space for the music to inhabit.” What emerges — contrary to the way I often envision...

1989's Field Of Dreams might just be Kevin Costner's finest hour. So why does the film still manage to hit so hard?
"We just don't recognise life's most significant moments while they're happening. Back then I thought, 'well there'll be other days'. I didn't realise that that was the only day."

It's a useful piece of advice that's given to writers, that you need to put something on the line if you want a piece to really work. That you need to put some, and ideally a lot, of yourself into it.
Brace yourselves, I'm afraid. I make no promises that the quality of what you're about to read is much cop. But I can tell you that Field Of Dreams is an immensely important and rich film to me,...
