Adam raised a Cain.
ulicknormanowen1 April 2022
Jean-Paul Zehnacker's time has come; the actor has a tendency to overact outrageously , rolling his piercing eyes ,but as he portrays a crazy megalomaniac ,it makes sense ;this part of the story was fleshed out by the writers , including scenes not from the novel ,and they are not really successful :the hostage -taking episode when Veronique's naiveté is taken to new limits: how could she believe Cain can sincerely repent ?

The second half , coming back to Leblanc's book , redeems it :the Abel /Cain duel on the foot-bridge sees Vorsky going at a peak of monstrousness: to have a fight to death between his own flesh and blood ,delighted in their struggle ! A scene which would not irrelevant in today's fantasy movies .

The mediocre remake of the miniseries (2022) borrows a lot from this family feud ,but it comes at the most awkward moment .

Some elements of the plot seem to indicate that the villains have invisible enemies too :who has untied Veronique?
