A fun set of challenges and a well deserved winner, the final cake was definitely monochromatic but very rustic and beautiful.

How can you win if you don't meet the brief?

Ugh. I'm only up to the end of round 1and I'm so pissed off that the team the judges chose as the winner for the round didn't meet the brief. That is so completely and utterly unfair to the other teams who did the right thing and met the challenge.
Does this mean that if they ask for Christmas themed and a team does Easter themed they could win because of taste even though the other teams did the right thing and they did the wrong thing.
Yes flavour is important but what is the point of the brief and the rules of that is not met. So unfair to the team who did the right thing but got sent home.
