Interesting, entertaining at times, but a little too ridiculous and improbable. I feel like these shows and movies always overstate the kind of skills the average person has for a trek of this nature.

If it had been done well I could forgive departing from the plot of the book so significantly as the themes of the novel are quite timeless. But the substitute plot (which, by the way, is almost all of it so far) has not been well executed. The excitement factor has been increased a lot (once again, I can understand the need to appeal to a wider audience) but apparently it was done at the cost of the willing suspension of disbelief. Mostly I hope that the series won't deter people from reading the novel, which I have always found to be one of the greats.
Please make this show solid
