Brutal

The first episode was a pretty good start to the new series, but it still left me curious as to how brutal this new killer would be and just how far this show as a whole was willing to go. Definitely a departure from the original movie for sure, this episode sets the stakes for the new cast as we get to see our first kill of the series. It is very brutal and provides more of the slasher elements that I think lacked in the original movie due to the restraints of being PG-13. All in all I can only imagine what is in store for the rest of them and I'm happy to say that this show does not hold back on the kills.
Watchable, but too slow.

The group of friends reunite, and share the secret.
I am baffled as to what people are seeing here, it's highly rated, I must be missing something, I am finding it so slow, the pacing is dreadful, there is no tension, no suspense, and from the characters, there is no empathy.
I like the acting, I like the cast, it looks great, I'm just waiting for it to move up a gear.
Lennon really does need to start pulling herself together a bit, she is proving impossible to like and relate to.
I feel like it's stuck in second gear. 4 minutes of brutal horror didn't make up for the meandering first 41.
5/10.

Well, as it seems "I Know What You Did Last Summer" vibes are BACK! The plot of the 2nd episode was very interesting, because the 2nd episode was set on, 1 year after the fatal accident. The storyline is very well written, it's full of plot twists. Also, we had the chance to watch the first kills! The kills of episode 2, were so gory and bloody (I really liked them). The characters are very well-developed and very interesting (Riley and Margot are iconic). Overall, I really like the show so far, because it's not only about the kills and finding out the killer. It's also about the relationships between the characters and the drama between them. I still don't understand why is that show, so hated? I mean, it's something "new" and I really like it! By the way, the outfits of the characters are so "Euphoria" vibes.
Irrelevant!!

An episode just short of 50 minutes with majority of the scenes being UNNECESSARY flashbacks to the previous episode. This episode had nothing more to offer than the previous, other than a brutal death scene towards the end with no build-up or suspense leading up to it. Just grotesque.
This episode was completely irrelevant, adding no further context than the previous episode. What was the point of it? I actually gained nothing from it. Nothing new about the characters, NOTHING. Just a whole bunch of visual scenes, mushed together.
This episode felt more like a travel guide for Hawaii with the amount of different location shots it had.

Finally! A Severed HEAD!

Warning: Spoilers
So since the title of this series is the same as the older movies, it puts itself up for comparison completely.
The 'teens' involved here don't even come close to comparing as far as being interesting as the 'teens' did in the original movie. And seriously the only male in the 'teen' group is gay? Why not just make it a complete group of 'teen' girls? Why have a guy in there at all??? -2 Stars
Oh but does the gay guy get killed? Well he gets hit pretty hard but is he dead? Oh yeah! Looks like he gets chopped up on camera and live streamed to the other characters. Okay maybe not live but sent out to the rest of the group. +1 Star
