Great Bonding Ep
kymberleigh-771801 August 2021
Considering all the COVID filming restrictions, this is a good episode. It features Cruz and Herman which doesn't happen enough. It gives the rest of the cast some time apart but also works them in. The 2020/2021 season has been rough on every series. I'm just happy to see any new eps and Chicago Fire has done a good job. They are both working 2020 in but not dwelling on it. I'm enjoying this season.

INTENSE EPISODE!

Intense dialog between Joe and Herman was excellent. I could listen to Herman talk about his family a whole episode. Not as much of the constant action and playfulness in the firehouse as usual, but still a great episode!

Heart pounding

As a firefighter, I was putting myself in Cruz and Hermann's boots. Only mistake made in the episode was that, especially an LT would know, you're not taking an elevator in a potential fire situation. This may seem like a filler episode to some but for anyone whos been on the job, I can tell you, this scenario is scary as hell. My eyes were glued to the screen the whole episode.

Fantastic Episode

I thought this episode was awesome. Great tension, great drama, I love scenes that take place in one location. I love that the romance was actually outside of the fire pool for once. More like this, please.

Signature episode!
Movieprof19 September 2022
Inner Light, ST:TNG. The Visitor: ST: DS9. My Lucky Day: Chicago Fire. Everything about this episode was perfect. I know my comparison involves two Star Trek episodes, but those two were as perfect as this one is. Drama, emotion, human connection, and no soap opera. The radio cutting in and out and the unseen potential emergency we're so perfectly blended. This is my favorite episode of this show.

Joe and Herman getting a show to show their stuff Is so great. These actors are impressive and really bring their A games. The side characters are also good, and the resolution is well done. Really appreciate that it's not all Kelly and Casey in this one.

Holly needs to shut up and grow up. Tedious mundane dialogue.

The worst episode of the show
waynedl4 February 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Every part of this episode was dire.

*Spoilers*

From firemen using an elevator during a fire - really?? - to the 'tons' of elevator cable being coiled on top of the hatch - which moved. The amount of electricity in the control panel. Them opening the control panel, then having a conversation, rather than doing what they opened it to do.

I could go on, but there was literally no good points in this episode.

Dialogue was good but based on bad decision making

Warning: Spoilers
The dialogue for this episode was good, I enjoyed the moments and love Christopher s character. But without Christopher and Cruz making a dumb decision to get in a lift with civilians and flammable chemicals, the episode doesn't work.

Seriously going up in an elevator, taking with them civilians and barrels of flammable liquid and then pouring flammable liquid through a hole in the floor.

Idiotic writing.

Warning: Spoilers
Firefighters taking an elevator on an active fire call.

55 gallon drums which "weigh 1100 lbs" that had been hauled by one man with a regular 2 wheeled dolly initially, but two firefighters have a hard time just standing up (not lifting).

Lots of standing around yacking instead of doing their job.

Coiled elevator cable so heavy it prevents sliding a hatch to the side under it until dramatically necessary, then it's tossed aside easily.

Idiotic firefighters pouring flammable liquids down a hole in an elevator to reduce weight in the elevator. Who cleaned up that 100 gallons of highly caustic, highly flammable floor stripper?

Christ I feel stupider having watched this episode.

Boring filler type of episode
Zedyeti5 February 2021
Needless to say I wasn't a fan of this episode. The majority of it takes place in a stuck elevator. Problem is it's not interesting and dialogue is garbage, not to mention the bonding experience over "personal drama" like their the breakfast club haha. This episode could be skipped and nothing would be lost. Total filler episode.

Just couldn't get interested
cockezville6 February 2021
This hour for me was tedious. I don't like it when ensemble casts take a break to focus on a single snippet, especially when it is with my least 2 favorite characters in the series. That midwestern accent David Eigenberg uses is so over the top, it is hard to listen. And the negative complaining girl in the elevator was contrived . Skip this elevator episode

What was this ?
rayahermans21 September 2022
Warning: Spoilers
How insanely silly is this episode ? Potential fire... you let civilians back into the building ? You use the elevator ? You don't try to use the elevator comm system ? You don't try to hold your 2way radio outside of the elevator cage ? 2 experienced firefighters start panicking ? Lifting the tolueen barrel with the pointy part of the halligan ? This is by far the most ridiculous episode if you don't take all the PC stuff into account. It's episodes like this that make people switch off good series. I think that all the potential firefighter scenario's have been covered and the series is far over it's top....
