Let me go on record to say that Kenny G is a very talented man. He’s amassed a great following and has had a career that’s been highly successful for a lot of years. His skills are not in dispute but his reputation among those that either don’t understand his music or don’t want to is one of ridicule for the most part. In some cases Kenny’s been a good sport and taken the spoof to a level that’s actually very funny. In others he hasn’t sued at least so that’s something. But there are a lot of funny moments

Wale‘s new song “Smile” is a celebration of positivity in the face of adversity, but when it comes to conservative political commentator and former talk show host Tomi Lahren, the D.C. rapper isn’t very happy
It all started on Monday when Lahren’s former boss Glenn Beck filed a counterclaim to the 24-year-old’s lawsuit against Beck and the network he founded in 2010, TheBlaze — in which she alleged that she was wrongfully terminated by the company and that they had launched “a public smear campaign” against her after she expressing her pro-choice opinions about abortion on The View.

At last, the Mikaelsons have returned! (Well, most of them, anyway.)
Friday’s season premiere of The Originals picked up five years after the family’s defeat, with King Marcel and Reverend Vincent working (somewhat uncomfortably) as one to prolong the city’s new era of peace. Unfortunately for Klaus, a key step in keeping that peace involves torturing him 24/7 in a dank, dirty basement.

Carrie's back, folks! And not the crazy "Omg what's she doing?" Carrie of seasons past, but a more mature, centered, and self-assured Carrie.
As Carrie goes, so does the series. Homeland Season 6 Episode 1 has the bearing of a show that's all grown up, short on thrills and gimmicks, generous with nuanced character moments.
Picking up six months after events in Berlin, season six moves to New York City, where Carrie has established a nonprofit law practice dedicated to defending Muslim-Americans coming under the FBI's over-eager radar.
She is also caring for Peter Quinn, who is alive (surprise!) and stubbornly fighting rehab at a Va hospital. Dar and Saul are in town, briefing President-elect Elizabeth Keane on all things CIA.
Quinn, alas, is a hot mess. Fortunately, the show delivers the bad news with characteristic dark humor. When Carrie nags him to push through even when the going gets tough, Quinn interrupts,...

Wow.
Things got heavy on Last Man on Earth Season 3 Episode 9.
Gail is still stuck in the elevator and losing hope, while the group finally decides that Melissa is a danger to herself and others and locks her up.
There were a few positive moments, and we'll talk about them below.
But first let me just say (spoiler alert) I truly hope Gail is still alive when the show returns in the spring.
Next, let me say, I hope the T-Rex suit never goes away. It makes Tandy's ridiculousness not seem so bad.
Now, Carol is upset because Gail is still gone, and she thinks she drove her away. Tandy suggests they finally take a honeymoon.
I don't want to hear that there's no magic in this world because you David Copperfielded me, bigly.

From the first time I saw it until this moment, two days before what might just be the most important, potentially resonant (for good and ill) American presidential election since the days of the Civil War, no other movie has expanded in my view more meaningfully, more ambiguously, with more fascination than has Robert Altman’s Nashville. We often hear of movies which “transcend” their genres, or their initial ambitions or intentions, and often built into that alleged transcendence is a condescension to said genre, or those ambitions or intentions, as if the roots were somehow corrupt or unworthy, in need of reconstruction. If the form of Nashville transcends anything, it’s the shape and scope of the multi-character drama as we’d come to know it in 1975, which was dominated at the time by disaster movies and their jam-packed casts filled with old Hollywood veterans and Oscar winners. But...

We’ve heard this for a while: we’re living in a Golden Age of superhero movies. In the minds of some jaded moviegoers, however, we live in an age of oversaturation of the genre. As great as the Marvel Studios movies are, there is little denying that most of them come across as pretty samey. Now, this isn’t necessarily a bad thing. In the grand scheme of things, audiences usually want more of the same with slight differences, and Marvel Studios has been pretty great on delivering on this expectation.
That being said, I don’t want to downplay the steps Marvel Studios has taken to ensure the longevity of the genre. Yes, their films tend to be quite similar at their core in structure, tone, and overall feel (with some exceptions), but they’ve spread them out over various genres to make them a bit more different than your standard superhero flick.

Last November, I had a chance to sit down and talk to Vin Diesel on the set of his upcoming fantasy film “The Last Witch Hunter.” Ostensibly we were supposed to discuss Diesel's immortal witch hunter character Kaulder and how the lore of the witch world differs from any other telling audiences have ever seen. Instead we talked about Dungeons & Dragons. Oops? What was it about “The Last Witch Hunter” that attracted you? Vin Diesel: Let me go way back. For the 30th anniversary Dungeons and Dragons the company at the time asked me to write the foreword for the book. [In it] I talked about my experience growing up playing Dungeons and Dragons religiously. I even talked about a character that I had named Melkor — a name that obviously I stole from “The Silmarillion” — and [how] that character was a witch hunter. [Then] about four years ago I met with a writer...

Three-time Oscar nominee Johnny Depp stars as notorious mobster Whitey Bulger in the drama Black Mass, from director Scott Cooper (Crazy Heart). The film explores how a deal between ruthless gangster Whitey Bulger and FBI Agent John Connolly enabled Bulger to expand his criminal empire with complete impunity, as Connolly – blinded by his own ambition – shielded him from investigation, ignoring the rising body count.
Cooper has said, “I wanted to explore the bonds of brotherhood and the bonds of loyalty, but also the unbridled ambition, avarice and hubris that drove these people. It was important to me not to simply tell a story about criminals that happened to be human, but to tell a story about humans, reprehensible or not, who happened to be criminals. And never losing sight of the fact that, in Boston in the 1970s and `80s, certain lawmen and criminals were virtually indistinguishable.”

Blessing the world with some of his sublime social commentary, Kanye West sat down with Clique TV in Paris, France for an entertaining and insightful interview this week.
The “Love Lockdown” rapper discussed the topic of racism in the world- “Racism is a dated concept. It’s like a silly concept that people touch on to try to separate, to alienate, to pinpoint anything. It’s stupid. It’s like a bouncing ball in a room with two cats or something. When you don’t feel like playing with the cat, you throw this bouncing ball and literally let them fight over the bouncing ball, and the bouncing ball has nothing, no purpose, anything other than it bounces. That’s racism. It’s not an actual thing that even means anything. It’s something that was used to hold people back in the past, but now there have been so many leaps,...

We’re pleased to be premiering another great track this week with Darth Nader & Arcade’s “Hold You.” Featuring Juliet Annerino’s soothing vocals, the deep house tune carries a groovy vibe with it that will have your feet shuffling on the dance floor in no time. It’s extremely catchy and easy to sing along to as well, which should bode well for its popularity.
“I partnered up with Arcade with a common goal on this track,” said Darth Nader. “We want to make electronic music more emotional and we’re doing this by creating tracks with a warm euphoric feeling, melodic vibes, incorporating live instruments, and delivering a meaningful message.”
Originally from Cairo, Egypt and now residing in Los Angeles, CA, Darth Nader is an up and coming producer who we discovered on SoundCloud through his tropical house track “Don’t You Let Me Go,” which has been...

Santa Monica — Michael Keaton has been asked about a sequel to "Beetlejuice" enough times to surely be sick of it by now, because the thing has moved at such a glacial pace there just isn't much to be said. But his work in the original film came at a time when his career was really taking off, and playing in the expressionistic world of Tim Burton in both that film and the first two "Batman" movies was a wholly new and exciting experience for him. In one, he helped build a character from the ground up, while in the other, he found himself at the center of a raging pop culture tempest. Both roles are iconic in their own ways, and looking back, Keaton can — as ever — find nothing but gratitude for getting to be a part of it. "Batman" in particular was a personal landmark, a movie that grabbed...
