'Phineas and Ferb' was so good in helping me through many tough periods during its run. Still do get a lot of pleasure out of watching re-runs of what was, when airing, one of the few shows on the Disney Channel regularly worth watching. Admittedly the later episodes are not quite on the same level as the more creative earlier seasons, but 'Phineas and Ferb' at its weakest still managed generally to be better than a lot of animated shows recently at their best.

Both "Interview with a Platypus" and "Tip of the Day" are great. There are many times where there is a preference for which is a better episode, and that is the case here. But not by much. In this case, there is a preference for "Interview with a Platypus", which had a more creative and different premise and more imaginative execution. "Tip of the Day" is still great, though one aspect doesn't completely come off, but "Interview with a Platypus" is brilliant.

Am going to get the one not so good thing about "Tip of the Day" out of the way first. Candace for my tastes was a little on the irritating side at times.

However, everything else in "Tip of the Day" works and everything is brilliantly executed in "Interview with a Platypus". The animation is full of vibrant colour, quirky character designs and meticulous attention to detail in the backgrounds. The music is dynamic with the action and the theme song is insanely catchy with very clever and quotable lyrics that anybody still in school fishing for how to spend their vacation will relate to.

Writing is extremely good in both episodes, especially in the particularly clever dialogue in "Interview with a Platypus". They are equally wonderful on this front, very intelligent, never juvenile or confused and often very funny to hilarious. The stories are engaging and have a lively energy, with the execution being more imaginative in "Interview with a Platypus" which had the more creative concept in the first place. The formula is recognisable but neither feel too repetitive, "Tip of the Day" still managing to have variety despite not being as fresh. The Perry (adorable and amusing) and Doofenschmirtz (who has great lines) subplot in "Interview with a Platypus" is a hoot.

Despite reservations with Candace, the character writing is near spot on. The voice acting is very good.

In summary, great. 9/10

"Interview with a Platypus"

The episode is just okay. Nothing amazing, but not awful. It's just fun and okay. I do have a theory that Perry purposely meant to say nothing just to save the titular duo from being busted, showing that he really loves them.

"Tip of the Day"

The most nostalgic episode of the series. Any Phineas and Ferb fan my age knows what an aglet is thanks to 'Tip of the Day. ' It's admittedly over the top with what the word aglet is capable of doing but I'd be lying if I said that when I was a kid I didn't say the word just to see if I'd get good luck. The main plot is hilarious and accompanied by a very catchy song that never left my mind since childhood. As for the subplot, I'd argue that's it is very funny and very relatable, especially with people having smartphones and being able to record anything at anytime. This funny story with Doofenshmirtz's high school video shows how the internet can ruin things.
