Great start to the series, and nice character development! Hoping the rest of the series is just as good. Very different to the original movie, which is a good thing.

Uncomfortable, confusing, weird, anxious, different, familiar.
Not sure anyone could watch this episode and yawn or say, "This plot line again?" Unless people really, really, really watch a LOT of bizarre TV.

Reading this is a sequel as reference is made to the original.
But what is a PhD from MIT working For daily cash in a hazardous reclamation area???
First episode is a two person show in the desert.
The woman's actions are not believable and distracts from the tale they're trying to tell.

Why? Why? Why must they redo a classic and not only Not improve upon the original, but make something that is terrible in so many ways? There is No Depth to any of it. What the original film lacked in special effects( considering its budget and technology) it more than made up for in dialogue and meaning. This show has a thousand times the budget and infinite technology and yet it is meaningless derivative drivel. If you can't do the original film justice just don't do it at all. Create something thoughtful and new.
