A more interesting character

I have been very disappointed with Mr Corman so far. I love most thing Joseph Gordon-Levitt is in, but I cannot get engrossed in this. It maybe because I am finding it slightly depressing.

This episode was a step up and I enjoyed the interaction between Victor and his daughter. I now think that the show might have been better if was Mr Morales.

Another good episode

A Surprising detour to look into the details of Victors life.

I think this is what The Mr Corman series is about. The observed details, the insight, the small moments.

Very natural interaction and situations between the characters, well acted and played out. We need these faster.

Its really difficult to understand what the show wants to communicate as as whole but episode wise this one especially makes sense.

The narrative isn't new but I guess it wants to say that Good guys have equally shitty lives. We are so focused on Mr Corman's defects in personality and the choices he makes that it was required to be shown how a man very different from him has his own struggles, that even if you try to do good in the world, be wise and stay positive, life finds ways to fu*k with you regardless.

Oh no, the "mean teenager" stereotype didn't die yet.

Even if this show had an actual point, even if it wasn't a lost narrative without a clear arc, the reliance of an entire episode on an old and possible one of the most toxic US cinema stereotypes would be enough to make it boring. Now with all that combined? It was possible the worst experience I had when watching something on apple+, so far.

Maybe the writers objective was to portrait morales life as miserable, but by trying so explicitly in a lazy way made my afternoon miserable instead.
