Could use some lights
bmkeigan1 July 2022
Maybe it's my aging eyes but there seems to me to be a trend that producers spend as little money on lighting as possible. Even the outdoor scenes are difficult to see. The story is fine but it's annoying that everything is so dark.

Very very strong start. Great writing, acting and directing. Chris Pratt seriously delivers. Some of his best work yet. Kudos Amazon. You did it again!

first one

Warning: Spoilers
First episode and i guess i am the first one reviewing it too lol I really like it.. at first I thought it was just a remake of seal team but maybe with more action and less soap opera drama.. and of course, way less nagging wives who have 0 empathy for team guys, always demanding that the guys share what they are feeling.. my God, that is so annoying..

reece s wife is alright and the last few parts were just thrilling and i was waiting for him to wake up (talking about hte MRI scene) realizing he was halucinating... guess not.. wow

great first episode! It shows a lot potential.

Too dark, not in a good way
dwk642 July 2022
Love the show and storyline, but can someone turn on some lights, please? Way too dark, even in the daylight. I would like to see what is going on. Other than that, it is great.

GOOD TIMES
arall31 July 2022
Seriously it has been a while since a serious military series that is top notch a while. Maybe the film The Outpost that comes to my mind, in the times of Top Gun Maverick hitting the billion mark and more and more people are bored with the agenda of the certain mouse, this is a quality show that is indeed not for everyone.

Very Promising
gokulmadhu-3753710 July 2022
Among NEW recent shows, this is the first one I am actually hooked to just by the pilot.

The plot seems intersting but the sympathy I felt for the main character in just 1 episode is mind blowing.

The first sequence bored me out of mind because basically I couldnt see much but after that, I slowly became interested.

I was actually about to give this episode a 9/10 but then I read about the MRI problem with mettalic objects and that downgraded the episode for me.

Still a great start, looking forward to the next episodes.

What a fantastic start
awoland2 July 2022
As a big fan of the books, and having looked forward to this for a VERY long time, the team did not disappoint!

The story differs from the book, but the story telling is fantastic & gets the audience to feel incredible powerful emotions in a great way.

Many have complained about the lighting & it being dark. I didn't have any complaints. Maybe others are watching on small screens or something - I watched in 4K on my wall mounted TV & felt it was REALLY high-quality production. They truly did film this like a big budget movie.

I cannot wait for the remaining episodes & hopefully - next seasons.

Lighting is a big fail
bartnsis11 July 2022
Hope you're not trying to be artistic or set "a tone" with such poor lighting...it's not working ! Even home and outdoor scenes hard to watch. Unnatural.

Wowza!!
specialkay_292 July 2022
What a way to start the series!! Action-packed and one question constantly running through your mind. (Not going say it because I want to avoid spoilers.). After this episode, I want MORE. I absolutely have to keep watching. I don't think I have ever seen any other first episode take off with such a bang. On another note, I have always been a Chris Pratt fan and have always loved his humor in his other movies. He is showing he is quite the dramatic actor in this movie though. His acting has been been truly AMAZING. It brought me to tears. I am really looking forward to the other episodes in this series.

Well that was a brilliant last ditch grip.
maxx_10 July 2022
To be honest, while the majority of the episode presented an intriguing plot, it was simply too slow and lethargic. I didn't really want to watch on. However, the ending was brilliant. Well crafted and intense. Will definitely want to watch next episode.

The definition of intense
rharwoodx1 July 2022
Some of the best TV I've seen in a while. I was wondering why such a huge star would do an Amazon series but I can see this is going to be a top quality show.

How NOT to film action scenes
blende4 July 2022
This may end up being a enjoyable series, but the action scenes in Episode 1 we're chopped up, confusing, dark, and used overly shaky camera work.

Frankly, I have no idea what happened and couldn't tell the good guys from the bad guys.

I'll keep watching, but if the remainder of the series is filmed like this I will not finish it.

Not a bad show but way to dark
o-zyosborne7 July 2022
The first ep seemed ok but was hard to follow with how dark it was. Lighten it up film makers. When it's chaotic, dark and early in the story development, it's hard to follow and makes it frustrating.

Promising start to the series
akaylorhulu1 July 2022
Warning: Spoilers
From someone who read the entire book series, I'm intrigued by this first episode. Sure, some details are different from the book (the MRI *which was a great scene*, the mission, how he met Katie, how he found Lauren/Lucy), and people may care about that more than me. But overall it was a unique, emotional setup to a series, and those of us who know where it's going have to be excited after this episode.

Chris Pratt wasn't exactly what I envisioned when I read the book the first time, but his acting was great, and I'm excited to see him continue to embody James Reece. Good performance by Kitsch too, who is a spot-on Ben Edwards. Still in wait-and-see mode by the direction they're taking with Katie, but overall a great start.

Classic Action Cinema
CitizenReview31 July 2022
This series does a spectacular job of telling a story - letting you experience the inner journey of a character as he impacts the world around him and is shaped by the aftermath of those events.

Strap on your gear, mount up and head to the objective. This episode captures the emotion of riding into battle: Entering the unknown with knowledge you may not be coming back out again, compartmentalizing fear, and moving forward with brothers sustained by knowledge, training and human will.

The writers and director treat the characters (and warfighters they are based upon) with respect and dignity. They also do a good job of highlighting the stresses soldiers carry home when they return.

The fictional events of the tale definitely have a Hollywood and sometimes super-human flare, but the sentiments and experiences of the characters will resonate for anyone who has been through a military deployment.

There were ample opportunities throughout this series to score domestic political points for one party or another, but the writers did a great job of avoiding this pitfall. In a world where all media is being consumed by partisan politics, "Terminal List" manages to stay out of the mud and focus on what matters to the characters: family, brotherhood/sisterhood in service, and justice.

I appreciate what Chris Pratt has done with the series, and would highly recommend it to anyone who likes a solid action thriller.

Very good opening episode...
Yes, there are some changes from the book - some pretty significant and some pretty small, but overall this is a very good first episode and hopefully sets the tone for the rest of the season.

highly unlikely
foreheadache22 July 2022
Warning: Spoilers
So the 2 thugs need to place protagonist James Reece in a particular position where they'll set the scene as suicide. Ok. And they know he's skilled and duly trained to react using any means necessary. So WHY do they take that long to point and shoot?!?

ALSO according to MRIquestions . Com "it may take 30-60 minutes for their magnetic fields to stabilize after being off". So bringing guns inside an MRI suite is also highly unlikely.

All of this seem to me a bit like lazy writing.

Must see-Pratt and Prime.. out-da*n-standing!
bedbath3 July 2022
Chris Pratt morphs into James Reece effortlessly. Emmy and binge worthy. All eight episodes are needed to tell this story. More realistic than most would want to acknowledge. Thanks to those who serve to protect! Thanks to CP and Amazon for the time it took giving us this heart wrenching story.

Steaming hot pile of garbage
bigmoby4 July 2022
This show is awful . From the terrible lighting all the way to Chris Pratts acting. I love me some Chris Pratt but it was either his lack of interest, terrible writing, or he suddenly got acting amnesia. There is definitely bad directing. Watch at your own mental risk.

Great action-packed start! The story took some unexpected turns right at the start, taking out some characters that I didn't expect but sets the pace for the rest of the show.

Good, but not what I expected
grlym-4684914 July 2022
Ok, so expected a traditional vigilante/get revenge guy flick...

But the pilot is really slow and repetitive.... .... And the show now seems like a "is it just all in his head" show. Which is a genre I hate. Because it's Easter time because most everything you thought happened...didn't

For the "in your head reality stuff", few shows can be Matrix 1, but too many show are Matrix 4 or Lost season finale.

I hope I am wrong. Because I like Chris Pratt and "Jack Ryan" type thrillers.

Lights anyone?
Peekupz10 July 2022
When the next awards season comes around this has to be a moral for worst cinematography. If there's going to be a second series made I seriously hope they can find be a cameraman who knows how to take the lens cap off.

May as well be a radio play.

Great episode but minor error
tareq91 July 2022
No one cared to check with a radiologist or a technichian working for the radiology department.

You are not spouse to have anything reacts to magnits in the MRI room !!!

That would be his alibi.
