Despite canceling Blue Bloods after 14 seasons, the cast has been lobbying for a last-minute reprieve on CBS.
Sadly, the network has confirmed that the series is no longer in contention for renewal and will end after 14 seasons in December.
While announcing the CBS fall schedule on Thursday, Entertainment President Amy Reisenbach shared that the show’s fate has been sealed.
“We really want to thank the cast and crew, everyone involved in the show,” Reisenbach told reporters, according to Deadline.
“We absolutely will miss the family dinners. It is important to give the show the sendoff it deserves.”
Despite reporters pointing out that the cast had been trying to get the show renewed for Blue Bloods Season 15, Reisenbach shut down any speculation of keeping the show alive.

Following the announcement that NCIS: Hawai’i will not return for a fourth season, the impact of the series’ cancellation reverberates beyond its television audience to the very fibers of Hawaii’s economy. CBS Entertainment, under the leadership of Amy Reisenbach, faced difficult decisions compounded by post-strike recovery and the necessity of strategic scheduling. CBS is a large organization that makes those tough decisions based on what’s best for the future. CBS has released its 2024-2025 television season schedule, and the NCISverse is strong.
The bad news is that NCIS: Hawai’i was recently canceled and removed from the CBS schedule.
Many NCIS: Hawai’i fans have signed a petition to resurrect the Monday night show, but the network is moving on without it for now.
The two shows added to the primetime schedule are NCIS: Origins and NCIS: Sydney.
NCIS: Origins is a prequel show set in 1991 that will tell stories about younger versions of Leroy Jethro Gibbs and Mike Franks.
NCIS: Sydney is a spin-off filmed and based in Australia, which found massive success in primetime during the two Hollywood strikes.
When does NCIS, NCIS: Origins, and NCIS: Sydney air on CBS?
Below is the breakdown of when NCIS fans can view the three shows.

CBS is finally offering fans of its now-canceled shows some answers about its decision to put an end to their favorite series. Specifically, network bosses George Cheeks and Amy Reisenbach revealed to the press (via Deadline) why it decided not to renew NCIS: Hawai’i. “We had some tough choices this year,” Reisenbach said, citing an “embarrassment of riches” when it came to original programming. However, the execs noted that they made these cuts “to keep the schedule fresh and keep the momentum going.” The execs also confirmed that there is no chance of resurrection for NCIS: Hawai’i (nor fellow canceled shows So Help Me Todd and CSI: Vegas) at CBS or Paramount+. NCIS: Hawai’i‘s cancellation led to an outcry of disappointment from Hawai’i lead Vanessa Lachey and NCIS star Rocky Carroll. Lachey, for example, openly mourned the decision on social media by writing, “Gutted, confused, blindsided. Grateful, confident,...

Fans were shocked to hear that “NCIS: Hawai’i,” the newest series in CBS’ “NCIS” franchise, had been canceled after three seasons last week. At a press briefing in Los Angeles, CBS executives said the decision came down to a balance of cost and ratings, as well as cohesion across the network’s 2024-2025 schedule.

CBS announced not only its fall schedule, but a full lineup for the 2024-2025 broadcast season at a Los Angeles press briefing on Thursday.
As “Young Sheldon” is currently wrapping up its final season on Thursdays at 8 p.m., a headline of the slate is spinoff series “Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage” taking over that spot, leading into “Ghosts” at 8:30 p.m. Additionally, “Tracker” — not only the No. 1 new series of the 2023-2024 season, but the most-watched series overall — is getting an earlier position, moving from Sundays at 9 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Several CBS traditions remain intact. Tuesdays remain “FBI” night with the flagship series airing at 8 p.m. followed by “FBI: International” at 9 p.m. and “FBI: Most Wanted” at 10 p.m. On Mondays, “NCIS” holds onto its 9 p.m. timeslot, and after the cancellation of “NCIS: Hawai’i,” it’s 9:30 p.m. position will be taken...

CBS executives were keenly aware of the elephant in the room Thursday as new co-ceo George Cheeks and entertainment president Amy Reisenbach opened their fall schedule presentation by addressing the latest rumblings in the sale process of parent company Paramount Global.
“It’s a super quiet, uneventful week for us,” Cheeks quipped as he kicked off the hourlong presentation just moments after news broke that Sony and Apollo submitted a $26 billion cash offer to buy Paramount Global.
Other than addressing morale — “we’ve all locked arms” and are “focusing on what we can control,” Cheeks said — both execs spent the press briefing at the Paramount offices in Hollywood focused on CBS and its 2024-25 schedule.
Cheeks and Reisenbach opened with a victory lap of sorts as CBS finished the strikes-impacted 2023-24 in first place, breaking a decades-old record set by the network with 16 straight season victories and 21 of the past 22 years.

If you read the headline and are asking yourselves, pilots? what pilots? — you are not wrong. It’s been largely a 2024 pilot season without pilots. A grand total of maybe one of them is expected to factor into any fall decisions as the broadcast networks prepare to unveil their schedules, starting with CBS tomorrow, May 2.
Needless to say, the broadcast pilot season is no longer the industry obsession it once was this time of year, with back-to-back disruptions from the pandemic and the dual Hollywood strikes providing the proverbial final nail in the coffin of the decades-old pilot cycle. CBS has been quite brutal with its most successful shows officially cutting off big hits like NCIS: Hawai’i, CSI: Vegas and, more notably, So Help Me Todd. The cancellation news took the fans completely off guard leaving them to wonder why the high-rated show was eventually scrapped so unfairly.
Driven to the extremes, some even created a public petition pleading the channel to finally listen to the people who wanted nothing but to get their favorite series back.
Despite such a persistence worthy of everyone’s respect, the whole social media fuss has quite low chances to ever resurrect So Help Me Todd on CBS given that the main reason for its cancellation doesn’t really have to do with its high ratings.
The good news here is that the long-suffering show may be easily picked up by another studio thanks to the fans’ activities.
Will So Help Me Todd Be Revived?...

The 2023-2024 broadcast season is nearing its end, with finales already starting to air. Due to the strikes in summer 2023, TV seasons were shortened to about 10-13 episodes for most shows. Some finales, including the NBC dramas that did air in the fall have already aired finales. [Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for NCIS: Hawai’i Season 3 Episode 9 “Spill the Tea.”] Compound X is no joke, as an entire team learns by the end of the first part of the NCIS: Hawai’i series finale. Sam’s (LL Cool J) read Jane (Vanessa Lachey) in about the Elite team when he had her interrogate the Chemist. Ernie (Jason Antoon) found out about it when Sam had him look at an encrypted laptop and he found that when Elite accessed it, their system had been compromised. And now, Lucy (Yasmine Al-Bustami) may or may not have dislocated one of the Elite agents’ shoulders when he tells her to get in a van; inside already are Jesse (Noah Mills) and Kai (Alex Tarrant). They’re taken, blindfolded, to Elite’s secret holding facility, where they’re told the Chemist was found murdered that morning. Swift (Henry Ian Cusick) has been the one interrogating him, but fortunately,...

Is it time for NCIS: Dallas?
Probably not, based on the events of NCIS Season 21 Episode 9.
It was a bad week for the franchise, with NCIS: Hawaii being canceled, without warning, after its third season.
And right after Sam Hanna of NCIS: Los Angeles fame came on board for an indefinite stay.
It appears his visit will be for only one season. That's a pity since this new lineup was only beginning to hit its stride.
Apparently, the franchise is sticking with sure things. Beyond a second season of NCIS: Sydney, what else is coming is very NCIS-centric: NCIS: Origins, aka the Young Jethro Gibbs Chronicles, and the unnamed adventures of Tony and Ziva.
Besides, Jo, the innkeeper/small-town sheriff, didn't strike me as a character around which to build a spinoff.
Maybe this episode was, to some degree, poking fun at Yellowstone. Then again, maybe not.

NCIS: Hawai’i fans aren’t going down without a fight. They want the show to continue and have created a petition to save it.
The sad news came out late Friday that CBS canceled NCIS: Hawai’i. CBS decided not to order a fourth season of the hit drama.
Many fans are confused about how the show could continuously win its 10/9c timeslot on Monday nights and not earn another season.
Vanessa Lachey said she was “gutted” by the cancelation. It was part of a message she posted on social media after hearing the news.
Vanessa has played Special Agent in Charge Jane Tennant through the first three seasons of NCIS: Hawai’i. The character also appeared on NCIS and NCIS: Los Angeles.
Maybe we could see Tennant appear on one of the four NCIS programs with new episodes in the next television season.

After three seasons, NCIS: Hawai’i has been cancelled by CBS. While the show was on the bubble, Deadline says it’s still a little surprising as there had been talks of an “abbreviated fourth and final season,” but that would have come with a massive budget cut.
NCIS: Hawai’i starred Vanessa Lachey as Jane Tennant, the first female Special Agent-in-Charge of the NCIS: Hawaiʻi Field Office. The finale of the third season, which will now be a series finale, will air on May 6th. Sources say that while it wasn’t meant to be a series finale, the episode won’t end on a major cliffhanger that will leave fans frustrated. With just three seasons under its belt, this places NCIS: Hawai’i has the shortest series in the franchise, following NCIS: New Orleans with 7 seasons and NCIS: Los Angeles with 14 seasons. The flagship series is still going strong and was...

Another NCIS spinoff is coming to an end. CBS has canceled NCIS: Hawai’i after three seasons. The two-part series finale will air on April 29 and May 6. And given what series star Alex Tarrant (who plays Kai) previously told TV Insider, it sounds like fans are going to be left hanging. “There is definitely a special twist that comes in towards the end. It was a shock to me when I was reading the scripts, that’s for sure,” he said, adding that the finale “most definitely … ends on a cliffhanger.” NCIS: Hawai’i was the last current CBS show whose fate had yet to be decided. The network has renewed Tracker, The Neighborhood, NCIS, FBI (for three seasons), FBI: Most Wanted, FBI: International, Ghosts, Fire Country, NCIS: Sydney, S.W.A.T. (after it was previously supposed to be ending with the current seventh season), Elsbeth, and The Equalizer for the 2024-2025 season.

It came down to the wire, but NCIS: Hawai’i ultimately didn’t make the cut for next season at CBS. The news comes days before the network is set to announce its fall schedule on May 2 and before the Season 3 finale of Hawai’i is scheduled to air on May 6. According to sources, the episode was not meant to be a series finale and includes a tease for what was to come but fans won’t be left reeling by a major cliffhanger.
The cancellation is not a complete shocker since, as Deadline has been reporting, NCIS: Hawai’i was on the bubble. Still, the outcome is surprising since an effort was made to extend the well performing drama’s run for at least an abbreviated fourth and final season, with producers agreeing to a massive budget cut and open to other concessions in order to keep the show going.

CBS is shutting down one of its NCIS field offices.
The network has canceled NCIS: Hawai’i after three seasons. The show’s season — and now series — finale is set to air on May 6.
The series, which stars Vanessa Lachey and added former NCIS: Los Angeles star LL Cool J to its cast this season, will likely end up as the most watched show to be canceled this season — topping two other canceled CBS shows, CSI: Vegas and So Help Me Todd. NCIS: Hawai’i is averaging about 7.8 million viewers in Nielsen’s seven-day linear ratings this season, and it hits 10 million viewers over 35 days of cross-platform viewing.
Those numbers would make for easy renewals most anyplace else, but they put NCIS: Hawai’i only in the middle of the pack at CBS. The network will also introduce a new NCIS series in the 2024-25 season, a prequel subtitled Origins that follows a...

“NCIS: Hawai’i” has been canceled at CBS.
The “NCIS” spinoff is currently airing its third season at the broadcast network. The season finale scheduled to air on May 6 will now serve as the series finale.
“NCIS: Hawai’i” was the fourth series in the “NCIS” franchise and is now the third series to end. Both “NCIS: New Orleans” and “NCIS: Los Angeles” ended in the past few years after seven and 14 seasons respectively.
That is not to say the franchise is not still going strong. The mothership series was renewed at the beginning of April. CBS is also prepping a prequel series about a young Jethro Leroy Gibbs, while Paramount+ is readying a spinoff that will see the returns of both Cote de Pablo and Michael Weatherly. Paramount+ and CBS also air “NCIS: Sydney,” which was renewed for a second season in March.
“NCIS: Hawai’i” was also the last scripted series...
