A gem

Warning: Spoilers
This rather short feature film by the great Indonesian director Riri Riza tells the story of a princess married to five brothers and sold in a game of dice. It is a tragic, but all too human, tale of rejected love, jealousy and naked revenge, deception and treason of family and tribe bonds, on the one hand, and loyalty, naivety and stupidity, on the other hand. The movie is shot in spectacular sceneries. It is marvellously directed in a baroque way and brilliantly played by a magnificent casting with the most beautiful Dian Sastrowardoyo in the title role. It is a brilliantly shining gem. A must see for all lovers of world cinema.
