A good episode

Warning: Spoilers
"Sangre" is the best episode of "NCIS" in a while. It's still not great NCIS though.

Let's start with the good aspets.

. The production values of the episode are great. The direction's good, the music fits the scenery and the acting's very good for the most part. Wilmer Valderrama giving a sincere performances. Not sure about Pam Dawber.

. The mystery is intriguing for the most part. Liked to see stuff with Torres and his father. The case has some good twists and surprises.

But...

  • The humor does not always work and the ending needed a bit better explanation. The subplot about Gibbs isn't particularly exciting.

Overall, a good one.

7/10 HK.

Sangre

Warning: Spoilers
Interesting at times, but having Torres' father be an agent for so long just to time his together is just bad writing. The story itself was kind of poor too.

Not up to par...

So while not the worst episode they have ever done it is NOT a NCIS true episode. Aside from a Marine victim NOTHING in this has to do with the armed services. When will these fools get back to the meat and potato storylines that made this such a great show for so many years. Not sure how long this will last until it loses all ratings and is canceled. What a shame.

Bogus for so many reasons

Steven Bauer plays Torres/Wilmer Valderama's imaginary father in this episode of NCIS. Wilmer's dad left him when Wilmer was a little boy. When Wilmer sees and recognizes his fahter, he recalls how his dad (Bauer) told him he was going to go get him a Happy Meal, but he never returned. "I be back soon, little pendejo, I bring you Happy Meal with little toy." For the next thirty years, Wilmer always wondered what happen to little toy?

Now Torres finds Papi (Bauer) in the middle of a murder investigation. The rest of this episode, and the twist regarding his mysterious daddy are silly and ridiculous.

And we're back to STUPID
koohii18 April 2023
So, Torres has a back-story with a dead-beat dad... Does anyone care? I sure as hell didn't. Oh, but his dad is a merc for the CIA, so that makes him OK. Um, NO.

Everything about the plot is flipping stupid. Irredeemably, repentantly flipping STUPID.

"Oh, those two? They were Russian Mercenaries." BS!!!

Oh, and we don't get a trial for the primary culprit, as that person is conveniently killed rather than having to answer for or explain the actions taken. Just a lone, bad-apple. People need to remember the whole saying: "A few bad apples spoil the barrel." Also, Torres owes that hotel a door.

Oh, someone finally remembered that the CIA isn't allowed to operate domestically--nice that someone actually bothered to notice that. Too bad the writers are back to doing pointless soap-operas instead of what NCIS should be doing: investigating cases involving naval personnel. Can we go back to that please? Can the writing team go and watch seasons 1-4?

The episode begins with a picture of a town on a hillside that is supposed to be Colon, Panama. Colon is a coastal city. No hills. Then Torres' father opens a small box with some strange currency. Panama has paper currency in name only, it uses the US dollar. And why does Torres' father speak with a Cuban accent?
