Politically polarizing film caters to fear mongers

Warning: Spoilers
I watched this "documentary" after reading the reviews here in IMDb. Whenever a large percentage of reviewers give a film the highest rating and a large percentage give it the lowest rating, you can bet that it is about real life politics. In this case, an effort has been put into giving Muslims a negative image while, at the same time, attempting to appear fair and even handed. Many "documentaries" (I won't mention the name of a certain chubby American documentary maker) are made to validate and support the preset opinions of the documentary maker. In other words, it is not a search for truth, it is a propaganda effort. Propaganda can be blunt or subtle depending on the target audience. This is subtle. We should remember that America and Israel and other nations started out by acting as "terrorists" to the existing authorities. While it is true that there are anti-American and anti-western Muslims that would commit mayhem if given the chance, there is no effort to examine their motivations. They are simply assumed to be evil. Additionally, this number of "terrorists" is microscopic as a percentage of Muslims world wide. My recommendation is to see this film. While watching it, remain aware if the film maker is trying to manipulate your feelings and opinion. Are both sides fairly presented? This is the true value of this film and the reason that I give it 5 stars.

Well-done and scary!

Told through the eyes of an American Muslim physician (and former officer in the Navy Medical Corps), this production does a VERY good job of laying-out the threat posed to the West by Islamic fundamentalists (Islamofascists, jihadists, Muslim radicals...call them what you will). The various chapters explore everything from the fund-raising support to terrorists (that largely emanates from Saudi Arabia, the Persian Gulf states, and other recipients of petrodollars), to the threat of surging numbers of totally unassimilated Muslims in Western Europe, to the threat of al-Qaeda getting their bloody hands on a nuclear device, or developing their own radiological "dirty bomb" or biological or chemical weapons.

In my opinion, this film does NOT slander Muslims in general, nor does it over-state the threat. Since it's been 8 years since 9/11 with no successful further attack on US soil, I fear many North Americans have succumbed to the wishful-thinking indulgence of assuming that 9/11 was a one-off fluke that can never be repeated.

This film respectfully suggests that such thinking is dangerously deluded.

Great Top to Bottom
gritosdelcongo25 January 2012
Solid film from top to bottom. Very educational. Each person appearing in the film has a long history in educating people about the real Islam. By following up on Dr. Jasser for example one can find that he has testified at congressional hearings, has an excellent website. Walid Phares is a scholar with many books backing up everything he says. Ayan Hirsi Ali has an interesting story. Her books can be purchased for those wishing to obtain an insiders look at the religion she was born into. The details of her life are great reading. I think the film could be better. This is why I gave it 9 stars. I think it would be interesting to have Islamic scholars show for example how the news media in general and individuals in particular distort the truth about Islam. Comparing scholars such as Said and scholars from Egypt on points would provide an interesting example of how we in the West have been misled. The same can be said for many articles in the New York Times reporting of events where Islam is central. Finally, I would like to have seen the film discuss how school textbooks in the USA teach a whitewashed version of Islam. Nevertheless, the film accomplishes a great deal and uncovers much that all Americans need to know.

Really is this is what we have come down to
k-gaurav23 April 2013
Hi, First let me clarify, I am from India & no I am not a Muslim. I understand the concept behind the documentary and was expecting a more meaningful insight on terrorism. This is a movie which is completely biased with one sided agenda & that is to propagate a theory of third jihad.

Really... Just because you are a Muslim based in US of A does not give you a right to justify that the entire Islam community is inclined towards a third jihad. Open your eyes look around you, You will find Muslim preachers telling you what is happening or promoted by a small community of so called Muslims is wrong..

I must say that I was surprised by the views of some of the highly educated people. Overall you can watch it if you are looking to blame Muslim as a community but as a message which is expected from a documentary you will be sorely disappointed.

Awesome and very educational

the Third Jihad is direct and to the point. This documentary about the 'radical' Islams in America and what their agenda is for America is brought to the front. This document shows with factual evidence what CAIR and other radical Islamic organizations that are working in America has set out to do. For those giving this documentary the thumbs down and calling it all lies and propaganda, I'd recommend you taking a look at the rebuttal to this film after CAIR and the New York Times smeared it. Many Muslim organizations came out in support of this film. There is a difference between the 'radical Muslim' and the moderate Muslim.

Really everyone should watch this

After watching this and seeing the proof of what is going on in the world today with ISIS and other terror organizations. I have to say that the only people who criticize this documentary could only be seen as a sympathizer for terrorists.

The facts are there and the facts are happening now.

The documentary is well made and is one of the better ones I have seen with credibility, backing up everything with facts and video clips. There is no speculation here folks. There is parts covering Islam, the goal of the jihads and the plan to invade the world from within or to out - breed every other race. Its all very interesting.

If you are Muslim don't get offended this is not an attack on a religion. I have Muslim friends and know that not all Muslims are inclined to behave in a way that would be a cause for concern for everyone else.

I believe this was one of the best made documentaries I have ever seen.

Thankyou for educating me.

Warning: Spoilers
From this documentary, I have learned that America is in great danger of radical Muslims. I learned that the goal of radical Muslims is to bring the world under Islamic state. They will do anything to bring the world under Islam, either by killing or politically. In this documentary, it is said that the radical Muslims know that they cannot beat the United States in military battle, so their plan is to surprise them and attack them from within. The radical Muslims are creating groups and organizations that are suppose to bring the United States into Islamic state. The thing that the people said in the documentary that was scary that people who they thought were moderate Muslims have also been caught committing terror. The main way the to win this war according to the people in this documentary is by first realizing what is happening and then going into the battle field. Another person said that he could summarize everything he said in two words to the Americans, "Wake Up." If the Americans do not wake up and combat against radical Islams, the radical Islam's will sooner or later succeed in one of their terrorist schemes.

My initial reaction to this documentary was scared. Whenever I think of the United States I think of gun control and how many people there walk on the streets with guns. But now with the radical Islam and how they want to bring America down, makes me even more scared of living in America and makes me think of my future life in college in the United States.
