Not good

Warning: Spoilers
Loved Tara in Corner Gas so was really looking forward to watching this. Honestly could not contain my disappointment. This movie is bad. The Dad character was just flat he was emotionless and did nothing in any way to take his daughters side in everything going on.. the daughters were cliché in every sense. And the villains of the movie we so lame. Take a genre and use bits from every other movie ever made and sir horn then into this story just doesn't do anything. Spoilers now. They just run away at the end and there is no consequences. Set up the obligatory sequels premise and end . Wasted 88 minute's.

Bad but funny
ashdoginc28 September 2021
The concept of this movie is certainly not new, so with Evil Step Mom (Evil Soccer Mom) it had to measure up with the likes of The Step Father (1987)... and it fails laughably.

If you have a sense of humor like mine, you'll find every stupid twist in this movie make you smile. The father is particularly dumb.

Basically it's the kind of movie to watch if you have nothing better to do. I think once was enough for me.

VIEWS ON FILM review of Evil Stepmom
burlesonjesse55 June 2021
Warning: Spoilers
"Poor Gabi, couldn't accept her new family". Um, can you blame her? When people with hidden agendas are involved, it's a slippery slope.

Anyway, 2021's Evil Stepmom is one of the weirdest, campiest, and most manipulative films in the Lifetime Network canon. As something about a fake mother and daughter who worm their way into a rich family (that lost its mom to a brain aneurysm). "Stepmom" has a little at stake despite holding back on the devious murders (for all the temptation, there aren't any).

"Stepmom" revels in numerous long shots of the rich family's overly big mansion (you could play a drinking game every time they are shown). Also, the actors have extended expressions on their faces and you salivate for them to just say something (which they eventually do). The rich father is Tim and he is played with reactionary sentiment by Randy Thomas. Tim's youngest is Gabrielle and she is played with a Firstborn quality in Julia Lalonde.

As usual with any Lifetime endeavor, Evil Stepmom has the antagonists getting away scot-free with most of the characters (including the middle-aged dad) being oblivious to the wily shenanigans that's going on. Without the Internet, smartphone pics, background checks, wide open silver foxes, and dating sites, "Stepmom's" inching conundrum would cease to exist.

"Stepmom's" hook is soccer dads who don't get too technical in their coaching. "Stepmom's" twist is a pseudo pregnancy which is clearly a trap. "Stepmom's" locales are clearly recycled (overhead shot of a high school is featured hint, hint). Finally, Evil Stepmom would rather stick to the outlined, Lifetime coda structure than punch you in the gut (like Girl in the Basement and/or The Husband did). I'm going with a mixed review which means it's worth at least one viewing. Just don't watch with an "evil eye".

Dipsh-t dad and even worse dipsh-t daughter Annabelle, who almost from the first moment ditched Gabi for psycho bitch! Poor Gabi being totally ignored in spite of her warnings, and even berrated by her sister and dumb clueless dad!

Done Before

This story has been recycled but with the horrible acting and adding nothing new to the scenario this movie felt so dull. Predictable and unimaginatively done. If your looking for a movie that has zero surprises then this is a movie for you.

Wow. I now Know

Warning: Spoilers
I now know why I stopped watching lifetime at least six years ago this movie is just horrible

First the widow away dead I don't know what what planet he's from when he tells Caroline that his wife is "dead" instead of saying my wife passed away which is a more gentle term of endearment for someone who's out of your life

Second when did lifetime store and getting short men who really don't even have a style lifetime used to have tall handsome men with swag where did they get this guy from?

OK so Caroline comes into his life. Her daughter looks like her sister or the sane age. Isn't it obvious that they may not be mother and daughter

This man who is the millionaire, obviously smart doesn't he ask Caroline where she works and when she says the places she us looking for are way too expensive! Huh!!! She is a doctor. Is he that dumb???

No one wants to know where she works? A wealthy man doesn't ask to see proof of a baby? He doesn't know what doctor she is seeing? He is so weak.

She should take him for all he has to get.

This movie is why I have stress. Yelling at the tv on the dumb these people do and how Gabi won't complete her findings? Why this man is not suspicious at all !!!!

This is a 2021 movie and tye movies are getting worse. I will stop again after one. No more Lifetime!!!

Bad movie
janmanuel216 March 2022
The father is so stupid and disloyal to his own daughter that it's not enjoyable. He invites this woman and daughter to move in when he barely knows them. What an insult to his daughters. The woman he becomes involved with is such a bully from the beginning and very unappealing. I just started watching a few LMN movies to break TV monotony. The first one with Linda Purl was decent. This one is so ridiculous. If they are all like this, I will have to find another entertainment venue. The only thing I liked about it was the younger sister. She's quite striking and I'd love to see her in a good movie. I took two more stars off when he finds out something very serious and still says they are a family and must stay. No normal person would do that.

Bad acting
jamesmartin-9949712 September 2021
The dads acting was the absolute worst.

The moms wasn't as bad.

The daughters were pretty good.

Although the moms daughter looked about 27, not a HS student.

Story line was bad, I mean how gullible can he be, and he appears to be successful.

Not too bad.

Warning: Spoilers
Evil stepmom. Surprisingly better than I expected. I thought the daughters did a very good job of acting. And they even looked like sisters. The plot could have been clearer. The evil step mother's motivation was vague and didn't come about until the very end. The stupid dad was so obtuse. Gabriella needed to have her camera on to record everything from the first minute. She NEEDS to take pictures of all the evidence she sees to show her stupid dad and doubting sister! (Also, the dad never married her, so she was never the "stepmom"). The dads acting has room for improvement. So does the evil stepmom for that matter. Typical stupid climax.

"the rich cry too."
apa-6420412 April 2024
This dad and his young daughters live in their carefree, pink world. And here is such an unusual reality - and they are shocked)) Although Caroline says many times that she loves him, they don't really want to believe her. Perhaps this is a family that thinks that everyone only needs from them their connections, or position in society and money.

Caroline decided to change the date place and they went to fast food She said that they would go to a place "more down to earth." This is strange to me - why is he an adult and not down to earth?

But here it doesn't even say who this dad works. We only see a nice house and a car.

Maybe he got it from his grandparents :-) Probably, if dad were a handsome young man, more super cool, then this plot would work very well.

In the future, it may well be that his daughters may find themselves in the same situation.

They will fall in love with someone, but the guy's family may not like him, for example, being spoiled.

Initially, the movie did not say that these are women who want a very rich husband.

But then the emphasis turned to the topic "that the rich cry too."
