Turkish version of "How to loose a guy in 10 days"
criscal14 February 2022
Things are quite exaggerated. Both leads are supposed to work in advertizing, but afford luxury places to live in. Pictures are also made to show only the best views of Istanbul and Cappadokia.

The chemistry of the lead couple could be better., but I have seen much worse before. But that of course helps the point that both play hard to get for most of the movie. Overall a bit old-fashioned kind of romance.

If you love romcoms, you'll like this one.
sarahilayda114 February 2022
This movie is well directed and well acted. It's also very fresh considering all of Turkish romcoms are either more comedy or drama. This takes American recipe and applies it with all of its clichés, and I mean ALL OF THEM.

But I don't mind clichés, they exist for a reason. This movie is cute and overwhelmingly lovey, and it's not a remake of How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days. They never actually try to lose the other person.

It's an enjoyable romantic comedy with a fun script and leads with an actual chemistry.

Predictable and Cliche
R-Bird-A13 June 2022
I was so anxious to see this movie because I like both leads from their other projects. There were a few cute moment, however, I felt that this story was too predictable, and the characters were "cheap". I didn't like their quickie connection-it just seemed too rushed and not authentic. I was not convinced that this couple had any emotional connection... Maybe they could rename it to "Lust Tactics".

Waste of time. Let me tell you why.
ediland-7678212 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Waste of time of the viewers, but also of the cast and crew.

Let's start with the characters. The background ones - flat like a piece of paper. They have names, I just can't be bothered to remember them, cause what for? They're all so stupid that they consider every word of Asli and Kerem to be gospel truth, no matter how moronic and how juvenile. And I'm not kidding. One of Asli's friends even makes notes. The main characters? By all means, let me start with Asli played by Demet. Asli is a rude, heartless, arrogant witch. That's in short. She plays with people's feelings, looks down on her friends, thinks herself all knowing in matters of love and men and considers herself a God's gift to humanity. Her style could be equated to "a bomb exploded in the second-hand and this is what dropped on me". Now, Kerem played by Sukru. He's childish (it's my campaign! - seriously, I was just waiting for him to stomp his feet like a 4yo), arrogant and completely... forgettable. He's so unlikable that they had to give him "sad" back story to make him tolerable - more on that later.

Now, the plot. Take "How to Lose a Guy...", a few scenes from "Ugly Truth", one or two from "Bay Yanlis", "Erkenci Kus" and "Sen Cal Kapimi" and probably a few others my mind just blocked due to the cringe factor and voila - you pretty much have this film.

Disclaimer: If you wanna skip the plot, just go to the last paragraph.

It starts when a blog reader throws Asli a challenge and she agrees to make a man fall in love with her to prove her methods work. Meanwhile Kerem's client is given to his colleague and he agrees to give him back only when Kerem makes a girl fall for him. So Asli picks a dress, spewing nonsense how men stop developing on the level of potty training and Kerem picks a watch saying that he is now the product he is going to sell to women. There are easier ways to do that than bets, but to each their own, I guess.

Of course they meet in the bar/pub/club/cafe (?) and immediately decide "that's the victim/mark" (lovely people, really) and so the games begin.

Fast forward a bit, cause nothing interesting happens (she changes clothes, he changes clothes) and then they meet again when they get in the same cab on a rainy evening. She insults him, he treats her like a moron and thus the great love is born? Seriously, don't expect any logic here. Then we go to Cappadocia, which is breathtaking. Unfortunately along with the views we're getting a sleezy, creepy amca vel. Uncle, who is like a hundred years old, but doesn't look a year over five hundred and who is more than willing to get into Asli's pants. And Asli, "smart" girl that she is, decides to make Kerem jealous leading amca on. Not gonna lie, had to grab a drink here, cause it felt ugh. But do not worry, cause to Kerem's aide comes amca's equally sleezy daughter, who already had him for one night and apparently was impressed and wants more. So amca harasses Asli, his daughter harasses Kerem and haha, sexual harassment is so funny. :/ Asli and Kerem get them drunk and run away. And this is where we learn that Kerem was born here, his daddy died and his mommy left when he was ten. You know, the all time fool-proof way of soliciting compassion for the character that represents nothing good. It's the laziest way of making a character even remotely likable and here, sorry to say, it failed. Not for Asli, though, who, from now on, looks at Kerem with eyes that were supposed to be puppy-eyes, but came out more like "I'm so freakin' high I've no idea where I am".

And here we come to the hot-air balloon flight and something that can only be described as the "fog horn sequence". Turns out Asli has a phobia (space or heights - don't remember, don't care) and so she screams in fear. I am not exaggerating when I say my dog jumped up and ran to another room and the birds on the trees by my window just flew away. I had to mute the audio for a moment. Suddenly I felt like I was dropped into slap-stick comedy, which was neither here nor there. But hey, not to worry, because Kerem will fix her phobia by telling her to not be afraid. Ugh... If only it worked with my arachnophobia, I'd move to Australia years ago. Anyway, fast forward and Kerem asks her to dinner. In his home. He'd cook. And she agrees so hurray, sexy time is coming. But first Asli will get herself drunk, Kerem will play "Breakfast at Tiffany's" for them to watch in the garden and turn on the sprinklers so that their first kiss was "in the rain". (Bartender, bourbon, and make it a double) It may sound romantic - it's not. The reason? Complete lack of chemistry between the characters. Peanut butter and jelly have more sparks than those two. Anyway, moving on. Nothing interesting to see here. After sexy times both Asli and Kerem admit they're in love but behold - the obligatory conflict before the happy ending - a must in any respected rom-com. Asli learns that Kerem slept with her friend and ghosted her, so she decides to finish what she started and humiliate him on her blog. They meet, she secretly live-streams his love confession to the world, tells him it was all fake and leaves. Sad song in the background tells me I'm supposed to cry here, but I'm not nearly intoxicated enough for this.

Allow me, please, to jump ahead again, because this is way too long already, and I'm still not done. Anyways, Asli realizes what a colossal moron she's been and writes on her blog that she's in love. Kerem reads it while he's already on the plane to London with the daughter of the sleezy amca. We get the worst airport sequence I have ever seen in any rom-com and Asli and Kerem finally meet. They're arrested by the airport security and THE END Oh, you think I rushed through this ending? That's cause it was rushed. There was no proper conversation and Asli's apology was a "by the way..." kind of thing. I really dislike those people.

Uff... I would love to send a fruit basket to the script writer and beg them never ever to write a rom-com again. EVER. Don't get me wrong, I don't expect rom-coms to be groundbreaking cinema, I am more than happy to embrace all the tropes of the genre. I even welcome them when they're done well. But this was not the case. The director could've made a really fun, feel-good movie, if they didn't take themselves so seriously and, of course, if there was any chemistry between the actors. This was my first encounter with Sukru, so I don't really have a comparison, but I have seen Demet in a few things before and all I can say is: What happened? The girl used to be good in comedy, so why is this such a dumpster fire? The tears are forced, the laughs are even worse, the puppy-eyes were left somewhere in the past and taken over by "I'm so high I have to duck to not get hit by ISS". It's also infuriating how all those stereotypes about genders are still so pushed to the front. I honestly thought we evolved beyond that and left it somewhere in the nineties. Anyway, thank you for your time. I assure you, however long this review, the movie is much longer and at much less funny. Cheers!

Way too cringe
Movieloversz0526 February 2022
Started watching this movie and less than five minutes in, I realized I was watching a Turkish version of "How to lose a guy in 10 days". However, it did not live up to my expectations. The actors were awful, there were so many cringe moments that I had to watch something else.

One of the best romantic movies I've ever seen
nezaketerismen12 February 2022
The acting, the scenes and the clothes were really good. It took a while for me to grab pen and paper and write down everything he said. Definitely a must watch romance movie.

I see we all thought this was just a bad copy of how to loose a guy in 10 days....
marwillreview16 February 2022
Just a terrible movie. I could barely get through it. It felt weird, and I do enjoy me some Turkish Dramas, but this RomCom wannabe movie was lackluster. Cringe, cringe and more cringe. Actors were ok... supporting actors were bland. It just felt like this movie was all over the place, and could not give what it was trying to give.

Predictable but not in a good way
leahcubed2 May 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Sometimes I just want light, fluffy, predictable "fluff." I thought this would be it. But there is predictable and then there is did they even bother with a story line? There were no incredibly funny moments when either "foiled" the other. No clear reason he would have fallen so hard for her. How did he have all his money? That was never explained. There was no "conflict" like she or he being with another person so that you are rooting for the main guy or girl. He was into her almost right after they met which made no sense based on the type of character he was. Her only attempt to make him jealous was with some leacherous older man where, if anything, she was the one that needed rescued. If you really are okay with something completely predictable no surprises then I could see how someone might like this. Or maybe if you are a fan of one of the actors. But as someone who has only watched a few Turkish movies at all this was not the best representation it would seem. It did make me curious to try some others. But, this one, for me, was extremely underwhelming.

Worst romcom I've ever seen!
Rfschipper13 February 2022
Looks like it's been shot in two weeks. No chemistry between actors. Very bad cinematography and editing. Scenes too short, with only clichés. Poor script. Lead actors both appear afraid, tense and uninspired. People who rate this movie high, are probably fans who will like it despite the low quality.

Remake but...
queenakachocolate22 February 2022
We've certainly seen this story over and over again but for a Turkish film, I found it quite racy with the kissing scenes and all that. Plus, the more I like the lead actress.

So if you like basic love stories watch it but if you're trying to come up with something new I don't really think you'll like it because it's always the same, you know a girl and a boy who play a game and who at first don't really love each other but fall in love in the end...

Cringe
Teeishot13 February 2022
The movie is too cringe. And the main actress definitely needs some acting classes, she is beyond bad. She is overacting in each and every scene and that's why you can barely call it comedy, it's a pure cringe. To sum up, even if the romcoms are not supposed to deliver oscar-worthy performances and they are meant to just entertain people, this movie is still not worth your precious time.

They gave us exactly what we were expecting
natpda12 February 2022
Cute movie with a quick pace and no unnecessary drama to give us a light fun romcom without a dull moment.

And the chemistry between the leads was so good and so was the cinematography.

Love Demet Ozdemir so will always watch her work. Disappointed in the voice over work tho. Would have rather listened to Turkish spoke with subtitles.

Quite childish movie with an unconvincing story.
alwayshonestly16 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Saying "I love you, and I'm ready to leave everything for you" after spending one night with a guy, who you know less than 10 days.

It felt like a story for teenagers.

The only thing missing at the end was that he runs out of that plane with a ring to propose her, saying I want to spend the rest of my life with you...

Instead of 'Love tactics' they should have named it 'How to fall in love with a guy in 10days' but I guess it would be too obvious it's a Turkish version of the movie 'How to lose a guy in 10 days. '

Most of the scenes were already seen in many other movies, therefore not original, nor very creative.

Quite disappointing from Demet, since I only watched it because of her, but after Erkenci Kus aka Early bird, it seems she just can't find herself in roles she's choosing.

I don't understand how could she accept a role in this movie after reading the script.

I consider this movie as a step back for her.

patchoulis12 February 2022
Bad copy of how to lose a guy in 10 days. Full of cliches and copy of other dizi/films. The love scenes aren't natural you can see that the actress don't even open her mouth! Very overrated.

Great remake of a Rom Com Demet queen of RomCom
anastafford13 February 2022
Demet Ozdemir and Sukru Ozyildiz have a great performance on this romantic comedy. We get to see a different side of a Turkish Dizi this time. Great lines. Fabulous wardrobe by Demet and two fabulous and attractive partners in the protagonists. Loved it and recommend it.

Similar story to other movies like "How To Loose A Guy In 10 Days" and many more. Good leading actors. The story should have been different and ORIGINAL!

A film to watch in the background while you are cooking or eating. The storyline is cheesy as hell.

It is a shame that in the year 2022, this "thing" represents the Turkish cinema on Netflix...

Although it's a cliché, I still enjoyed it and I really loved the vibe and atmosphere of it. I really love the ending, the couple was quite convincing and it actually proves love tactics!

worst movie ever!!
mmazalto14 February 2022
This is the worst movie I have ever seen and it does even not deserve 1 star. Very very very bad acting and very very very bad script. I have never written a review on this page. I just cut the movie to write this review. The only good thing about the movie is to be able to see how beautiful is Cappadocia.

Disappointed
Brunswick0312 February 2022
Just another dizi, I was hoping that since it was a Netflix product, the quality would be better and I really wanted to like it, but no:-( The storyline is not original which would be fine if the film was well done but most scenes were just cliché scenes you will have already seen a lot in Turkish productions. Cool back and forth from one character to the other at the beginning but then every scene was just stuck one after the other too quickly to portray a quality story. It could really have been better with more investments and a bit of realism with the clothes as well. I get it that it's fun to have different designs but some looks were so over the top, it was unrealistic. Actors are gorgeous, no need for so much.

Demet the gorgeous talent
agnesdevis12 February 2022
A film full of romcom cliches, it's such a light fun watch. Something I personally missed in the current films and shows. Demet is stunning in every frame and the way she emotes with her eyes is something else. Sukru is gorgeous and the couple have sizzling chemistry. A special mention to the stylist as through the movie Demet's looks are chef's kiss. Overall a fun watch when you want to escape into a cute love story.

Undoubtedly poor skilled acting and shamelessly imitated script. I guess it is the way of making fun with people's minds nowadays. I must admit they surprised me though by not doing dirty dancing scene. Good job Netflix!

Disappointment:(
selnks9 March 2022
Just a terrible movie. Some scenes are so cliché that you can see them in many Turkish TV series and movies. Some scenes made no sense and weren't funny.

I don't even want to talk about acting. The attractiveness of the actors outweighed the talent. In general the best thing in the movie is the clothes and accessories. And that's it.

I watched it with high hopes but it was a big disappointment.

(sorry for my bad english) :) :)
