Chris Hardwick Walking Dead with AMC in Talking Dead
AMC has given the go ahead for a post-episode talk show for The Walking Dead called, creatively enough, Talking Dead with Chris Hardwick as its host. Hardwick should be familiar to anyone who has ever watched G4’s Web Soup or saw The Walking Dead panel at Comic-Con this year. The show will feature actors, producers, and even fans taking questions and comments from viewers. It’s a fun concept that could create some good conversations.
I’m a little surprised at how good of an idea this seems to be. According to THR the talk show will be a half-hour and premieres after the encore presentations of The Walking Dead on Sunday, Oct. 16. Beginning Friday, Nov. 4 they will start to air following the encores at 11pm. I’m sure in the coming weeks we will hear about how exactly viewers...

I’ve have absolutely no idea what AMC’s masterplan is for The Walking Dead, but the last thing I (or anyone else for that matter) could possibly see in the zombie shows future is a talk show. But that is the cold reality [show] of what AMC are doing. Say hello to the pun-derful The Talking Dead.
Deadline reports that the live half-hour show will debut on the network on October 16th, following the encore presentation of the season premiere. Your host? Chris Hardwick (aka The Nerdist), a man who has plenty of reality show experience having hosted Singled Out, Wired Science and Web Soup, who will host a weekly discussion with actors, producers and fans about the preceding episode… Says Harwick:

[1] Following in the footsteps of Bravo's Real Housewives series, AMC's The Walking Dead is set to get its very own live talk show dedicated to picking apart the misadventures of Rick Grimes and his motley crew of zombie killers. Hosted by Chris Hardwick (of Nerdist podcast and Web Soup fame), The Talking Dead will feature episode recaps, fan Q&A and discussions, and interviews with the cast and crew. More details after the jump. Described by AMC executive Joel Stillerman as a "kind of live water cooler," the half-hour chat show will kick off Sunday, October 16, immediately after the Season 2 premiere of The Walking Dead. Starting with its second episode on Friday, November 4, The Talking Dead will air Fridays at 11 following the encore presentation of The Walking Dead. Hardwick has demonstrated his affection for the series before, as when he hosted the official Walking Dead panel at Comic-Con earlier this year.

After walking the zombie walk this season, AMC will also talk the zombie talk.
The cable channel has greenlit a "Walking Dead" after-show called "Talking Dead." It will premiere Sunday, Oct. 16 after "The Walking Dead's" season premiere encore, then move to 11 p.m. Et Fridays starting Nov. 4.
Chris Hardwick, the host of G4's "Web Soup" and creator/curator of Nerdist, will host the half-hour show, which will feature interviews with cast and crew members from the show and interaction with fans about the most recent episode. "Talking Dead" will also have a heavy online component for fans to continue the conversation.
"As an Enormous [caps his] fan of both 'The Walking Dead' comic and television show, I pretty much begged for this job," Hardwick says. "Dissecting the moves of Rick Grimes and the remaining survivors after every episode is something I would be doing with my friends anyway,...

Host, actor, standup comic, writer, musician, and voiceover artist Chris Hardwick ("Web Soup," "Attack of the Show!") has teamed up with BBC America to launch "The Nerdist," a talk show based on his popular blog and podcast. In the first episode, premiering Sept. 24, Hardwick sits down with comedian Craig Ferguson and Matt Smith of "Doctor Who" to discuss all things geek-related. At the 2011 San Diego Comic Con, in between moderating numerous panels featuring the casts and creative teams behind "The Walking Dead" and "The Big Bang Theory," Hardwick chatted with Back Stage about acting, hosting, and creating his self-proclaimed "nerd fort." Back Stage: How did you get into acting?Chris Hardwick: When I was in school, a friend of mine was working for a show called "thirtysomething." They needed a guy to play a delivery guy from Goodwill, because one of the characters in the show died—spoiler alert!

Comedian Chris Hardwick loves him some nerd ass sh*t.
Over the past few years, Hardwick has cemented himself as the go-to moderator for San Diego Comic-Con panels and it's obvious why. Besides being a comedian with a penchant for geekery, Hardwick's the creator of The Nerdist podcast, whose various celebrity guests speak their minds on their own fanboy obsessions, and the host of Web Soup, a YouTube spin on Joel McHale's The Soup.
Now the genre-friendly pundit has found himself another gig: the host of BBC America's "Ministry of Laughs," a new Saturday night programming block aimed at bringing BBC's funniest new shows across the Atlantic. According to the press release (via MTV Geek), the showcase launches June 18 and features the latest seasons of The Inbetweeners, the new show from the duo behind Little Britain, Come Fly with Me and The Graham Norton Show.

President Barack Obama shocked the world with yesterday's news that the United States have located and killed Al Qaeda terrorist leader Osama bin Laden, and celebrities throughout Hollywood have taken to Twitter to tackle the development.
We brought you some of those highlights earlier, but the floodgates remain open well into the afternoon today, particularly with fascination over Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's apparent early knowledge of bin Laden's death, and the successful mission's eerie similarities with "Star Trek."
But Obama was a fixture of the weekend's headlines for other reasons, too: namely, the speech he delivered at the White House Correspondents' Dinner on Saturday evening, which included jabs at potential presidential rival and "Celebrity Apprentice" host Donald Trump. Several actors, writers and directors were impressed with Obama's comedic chops, particularly in light of the bin Laden development just one day later.

"No, look! There's a blue box, it's bigger on the inside, it can go anywhere in space and time, sometimes even where it's supposed to. There's a bloke in the box, he's called 'The Doctor' and when he gets where he's going there's going to be a problem and he'll try to solve it and he'll probably succeed because he's awesome. Now shut up and go watch 'Blink.'" That's author Neil Gaiman's advice to all of you who have yet to start watching "Doctor Who." No need to get bogged down in the show's 47-year history (yet), or even feel you need to watch all of New Who (which started in 2005). Just pick a point and start. Don't worry, you'll catch on.

Jimmy Fallon took center stage at the 2011 PaleyFest Friday night (March 11), and this time he was the interviewee, not the interviewer.
Fallon was the sole guest at the festival, submitting to an easygoing, funny and clip-filled interview with his friend, comedian and "Web Soup" host Chris Hardwick. He talked a lot about how he puts together "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon," the type of people he likes to work with (he hired his writers "based on their talent, not their resumes") and about his career leading up to "Late Night," including his time on "Saturday Night Live."
He also shared a few things we didn't previously know. Depending on your level of Fallon fanaticism, some of these things might be familiar to you. But we thought found the following six tidbits pretty interesting.
1. He didn't pass his first "Saturday Night Live" audition. Producers liked his audition bit -- as part of his early stand-up act,...

Alex Murray has ended his partnership with John MacDonald in MacDonald-Murray Management and has become a manager at Brillstein Entertainment Partners. Murray reps standup comics, personalities and comedy writers, and is bringing clients that include Jim Gaffigan, G4's Web Soup host Chris Hardwick, Dan Finnerty and The Dan Band, Nascar fixture-turned-comic Michael Waltrip and comedy writers/performers Brandon McMillan, Todd Glass, Jonah Ray, Daniel Kinno and David Feldman. Murray said that he has wanted to join Bep since leaving Icm in 2000. He hopes to build his comedy business in the model of Gaffigan, who's also repped by CAA. Gaffigan has grown to become one of the top 5 touring comics in the country, and the millions he makes allows him to call the shots. He's now branching into acting and next stars on Broadway in That Championship Season alongside Kiefer Sutherland, Jason Patric, Chris Noth and Brian Cox. Murray has...

America loves it some clips shows, at least when those clips shows air on TV. ABC recently renewed America's Funniest Home Videos for the series' 21 season, Comedy Central signed Tosh.0 up for its third year, and G4 extended Web Soup's sophomore run. Clip shows on the internet, however, are prone to fail. From NBC's Dot Comedy or Jim Kirk's The Clip Show, to The Daily Reel's The Daily Reel or Yahoo's The 9, piecing together online programming with pieces of other online programs simply hasn't been successful. Clip shows operate effectively only when they are A) showing the viewer a piece of content the viewer hasn't seen before, B) showing the viewer a piece of content the viewer has seen before in a manner that's more entertaining than the piece of content itself, or C) a combination of both A and B. Simple concepts, for sure, but concepts no one...

So "Lost" comes to a close today (Sunday, May 23).
It's kind of hard to believe that this six-year journey we've been on will conclude in just hours.
For fans, it's weird enough. But imagine how the show's writers and producers and actors are feeling right about now.
Last night, on the eve of the series finale, many of them -- including Damon Lindelof, Carlton Cuse, Eddy Kitsis, Adam Horowitz, Elizabeth Sarnoff, Kim Dickens, Harold Perrineau, Nestor Carbonell, William Mapother, Allison Janney and Titus Welliver (The Man In Black) -- gathered at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in Los Angeles for "Dharma Station: Ucb - A 'Lost' Comedy Event" hosted by Paul Scheer ("Human Giant," "The League") and Rob Huebel ("Human Giant," "I Love You, Man").

It's always refreshing to see a showbiz vet indulge in a passion project that's actually entertaining, informative and funnier than anything he's ever done. That's exactly what 'Web Soup' host Chris Hardwick is doing with his latest venture, The Nerdist Podcast.
Hardwick and 'Web Soup' writer Jonah Ray launched the free-form podcast earlier this month. So far, they've posted three hilarious episodes featuring candid conversations with TV comedians Drew Carey, Tom Lennon ('The State', 'Reno 911!'), and Adam Corolla.
The show is worth a listen for anyone looking for a good laugh and some entertaining and honest conversations about life in the entertainment business.
Nerdist give Hardwick's famous friends a comfortable venue to let loose on countless topics and to and tell personal stories you'll probably never hear anywhere else. (Most shows are recorded at the guest's home.)

I'm not sure how much footage from Iron Man 2 is new, but I think some of the booty-shaking backup dancing is fresh. The movie footage is spliced together with an AC/DC concert in Argentina to create the feel of a giant Stark Expo. No word on whether it's in the movie or just promotional but it got my blood pumping.
This is the second green band trailer for Kick Ass, which still looks like a comic book crossed with Superbad to me. It doesn't seem that different from the red band trailer from last month except for the little girl not dropping f-bombs all over the place.
IMDb says that From Paris with Love was directed by Pierre Morel, but it looks to me as if Michael Bay had his fingers in it, or perhaps Guy Ritchie. Guns, explosions, car wrecks abound but if you're looking for plot I'm afraid you're out of luck.

Who's this now?
Well, this is an interesting twist.
Yesterday, we mentioned that Neil Patrick Harris had taken to his Twitter with a low-key appeal for votes in Man of the Decade, and had mounted what seemed to be a huge lead. Even once John Barrowman engaged via his own Twitter, we though maybe the 42x multiple Nph had in followers might make the race over.
Enter Jonathan Ross, riding on a white stallion, to aid his friend John Barrowman. Jonathan is, for lack of a better comparison for our U.S. readers, a sort of Jay Leno in the UK, except people don't seem to hate him. In fact they love him so much, he's got about 500,000 followers on Twitter. So when he put the story out there that Barrowman was going down to Nph, things took on a life of their own.
