Can we get somewhere already?
Matthew072511 October 2021
Warning: Spoilers
*spoilers* Listen, bottom line, I like this show. It's kept me coming back, even with it's frustrating moments. But it's getting harder and harder to have any affection for Kristen's character at all. I mean yeah, we've been teased with possession. We know somethings 'off.' But how long can we go without any answers as to her outrageous behavior, especially towards her own husband? Now she full on cheats on him, RIGHT AFTER he questions whether she's cheating on him, and it's with a Satanist?! What is happening here?! THEN, even though he suspects she's cheating, she comes wandering in late at night, takes a bath AND a shower (after supposedly being at work), and he just lies there sleeping peacefully through all of it?! And what in the world is going on with her mom?! Yeah, we get it, she's a whack job mixed up in some weird crap, but can we find out what the heck is going on already? I think that by trying to build suspense and intrigue, they're doing a better job of just irritating the remaining fans of the show... I wish more people were writing reviews of this show, because I'd love to hear other people's thoughts. I can't be alone.

I haven't given up, I'll keep watching, but come on already...

You touched every point but one. WTF is going on with Kristen's daughter??? I mean how can they just leave us hanging and just move on?

Like many other shows that have been compelling and that gone to be canceled leaving the view in the dark, I "pray to God" this won't be one of them. Like you Mat I'll keep watching and hope for the best too.

Season 2 review so far: Too many questions, not enough answers
aca-8623226 September 2021
Im officially worried about season 2. In the first season, they did an excellent job of showing how classic supernatural evil can hide behind modern day skepticism while teasing the real mystery that David, Kristen and his priesthood are vitally important to actual battle of good vs evil. The tone was perfect because we were questioning the validity of supernatural events just like our main characters. However, that tone should have ended definitively with Kristen in the S1 finale. That event should have marked the moment when our 3 main characters officially became one of the cases they like to investigate. I was excited for S2 because I believed the show would finally provide us with ANSWERS, take the definitive stance that supernatural evil is real and our protagonists would have to deal with this change in reality. Instead, the show is frustratingly still trying to keep us in the dark. It has not addressed ANY of the questions from before, it has created EVEN MORE mysteries with no answers and had characters we like behave in illogical ways with NO HINT of a larger explanation coming. It's basically gone backwards in terms of plot and character development. This episode is no exception. I understand that there are still 2 episodes left but after Game of Thrones and Lost, Im starting to think the writers are just not interested in seriously addressing the fantasy/supernatural elements they keep introducing. I hope Im completely wrong in 2 weeks but a better show wouldn't have relied on the last 2 episodes to explain a seasons worth of questionable character choices and nonsensical scenes.

Kristen

I waited binge the 2nd season which I think helps in not adding a review (critical/positive) of each episode, but man I am now writing a critical review. The on going weirdness of Kristen is just too over the top!!! If she is possessed then the writers are doing a suky job helping us along the way. Also her mom??!? Bugged.

The end.

Almost done...going going gone

Warning: Spoilers
I generally save a review for an end of series, end of season kind of timing. Rarely do an "episode" as a stand alone because they're usually tied together as a story. Which, yah, this one is tied to others as the story. But it's the STORY that's become such bullsh!t that I'm considering removing this show from my line-up to watch.

Season 1 was terrific. Enough wackiness mixed with common sense stories that it's believable. Confusing but within the realm of possible.

Season 2 has gone off the cliff of any kind of cohesive story line to connect to others or make sense. It's like watching Twin Peaks wackiness while on acid so nothing makes sense and afterwards you can't make sense of anything you've just watched. It's just scene after scene of STUPIDITY! Like it's important and has something to do with a STORY! It DOESN'T!!!

1. she's pulling on her panties outside in the driveway? She's really suddenly that stupid?

2. Sylvia is pouring blood over Leland's head in a bathtub where he's lying fully-clothed? WHY? NO point to that!!

3. Ben KNOWS it's "Maggie" he's having sex with, he's called her out on it several times, but after having sex on the floor, Vanessa calls and he's SURPRISED? We know he's not that stupid, he's actually the smartest of the 3 IMO but he can't connect dots?

That list could go on for days but...it's frustrating even just listing them because it brings the issue of the writers, show runners, etc disrespect for us the viewers front and center.

Do they seriously think we're so stupid we'll just keep watching despite this bullsh!te they've been delivering week after week now?

Thank goodness I was binging instead of wasting my time week after week waiting and hoping for a good episode to arrive. I discovered this bs in 1 day...saved myself time.

So many dumb story lines. Too many dumb story lines to be worthwhile after this episode.

Ps: forgot one of my biggest "I hate this" part. Those DAUGHTERS! Holy heck!! They never shut up, they never talk in a normal voice and they never behave themselves in a normal way! Seriously...whoever thought they were cute needs to be fired.
