"watch out for stobor."
dallonbrobeck11 June 2021
I knew before the season started that CW was going to have a two episode arc that hit you in your feels pretty hard but I didn't expect them to be this god damn good. There was something about the flashbacks in this episode that really hit me good especially the last one of Peter and CW. I really loved this episode. Humphrey Ker wrote one hell of an episode. I hope to see him do more in the future.

Incredible

This and the previous episode together are tv at its finest. Mythic Quest has always been excellent, but I feel like this is raising the bar incredibly high.

Left me in tears

Honestly, left me in choking up in tears with moments of genuine human compassion; contemplating lost friendships, and all our inevitable departures.

Went in looking for laughs, left in tears 😢

This is one of my favorite shows on the air rn. These past 2 episodes were absolutely incredible, I even went back to watch S1, episode 1 because I just needed some more fixins of the MQ crew. Its pretty cool to see that Joshua Brener was shown as young C. W. accepting the Nebula in episode 1. I really hope that the show keeps this up every season, and gives each and every member of the MQ crew their own episode. It's a really beautiful idea and I hope as the seasons go on (many, many seasons 🤞), these characters will understand each other more and more. As hilarious as this episode was, I was in tears seeing C. W. get over his pettiness and jealousy, and just be there for his old pal. And even more touching than that, was that the first time since loosing his 'muse', Peter has someone to read his stories to again. A huge shout out and thank you to everyone involved on Mythic Quest. I swear this show better get renewed for a 3rd season soon, Ill for real just play the show on a loop and refuse to give other Apple tv shows attention. That's right apple, you're loosing this single customer if you dare think about canceling this show 👊

Two old pro showing how it's done.
gapatrick-304556 July 2021
Fantastic acting by F. Murray Abraham and William Hurt, wow. This and the previous episode combined made for a great two episode arc. Both were more drama than comedy, and had tenuous ties to the main dysfunctional video game office sitcom, but if you love good tv, these are a must see.

Good video games cover all emotions!

I started off being upset, why are we pushing this story line. But then it hit me. The makers of this series don't want to be confined to simple jokes and story telling. They believe they are gifted writers and want to be able to see that they can be serious as well. 1/2 half of this episode could have been a sunny in Phlly episode, but the second part last ten minutes was truly inspiring and great writing. It was closure and it was what could have been. It was also a little sad because these two characters are lot closer to The end and they both are able to Recognize that jealousy and pride have hurt them both. At least one of them has been way more selfless then the other. Don't be Surprised if Mac and Charlie come out with a serious drama during the next five years. Not only have they proved that they can write serious they have also directed two of the finest actors, to prove that they can work with the strong talent.

The sequel does match the original

I suspect this two episode arc was planned to manage reduced cast and crew availability during the pandemic shooting. This marks the first in-person appearance of CW, and features a smaller cast not including the main offices of Mythic Quest. No doubt this was done to limit the travel for the older cast member. It also directly follows the story of last week's flashback episode "Backstory" and brings some closure to the arc of CW and his rival Peter. It's always great to spend some extra time with supporting characters in an ensemble, and this one delivers.

Warning: Spoilers
We had a great backstory episode last week and they continued that history of CW here.

Well-done, funny with a great emotional ending.

High-quality performance from F. Murray Abraham here too.

Episode 6 and 7 made it up for a very poor season
albert-bentall12 June 2021
I was extremelly disapointed at the turn Mythic Quest took this season with insanely stupid writing and themes.

The last two episodes about CW were extremelly well written, and culminated on episode 7 with an absolutely heartbreaking twist. Not in term of plot, because it is quite a simple plot, but the emotions, the human interactions, feels deeply true and fantastically well capture.

It is almost as if another team of more gifted writers took over the show for two episodes.

Whoever they are: Thank you, gifted writers, for saving season 2.

Roller coaster of emotions
streamingguide14 August 2021
The begging half of the episode was hilarious and I was all for C. W. gloating, but seeing the character development and the tone change drastically in the last 10 minutes, is what good writing is all about! Last two episodes definitely the best of Season 2 so far.

Perhaps I am missing the point?

Firstly I have no issues with side or back stories but I found both these 2 episodes boring and unnecessary. I don't think it added to the overall story of the show at all and if anything disappointed that is effectively now an 8 episode season rather than 10.

Best episode of the series
tableeightproductions12 August 2021
This is academy award level acting by two greats. They play subtitles and nuances of the characters are wonderful. I hope there are more episodes like this in the future.

California? Calamari?
matteopelayo11 June 2021
I noticed that the creators of the show are trying to make the "old character" have a good story arc and I don't have a problem with that! It's just that when you realize that the old character from the creators' other series (IASIP & Community) either doesn't have an interesting storyline (Frank) or was written off the show (Pierce); it makes you appreciate them more.

I hope the remaining episodes go back to the A-plot though. I'm excited about Poppy and Brad's storylines.

The least annoying Rachel has been

Really enjoy when the show goes off into different storylines. Rachel and CW actually played well of each other.

Really caught me off guard
joaogravata10 February 2022
After the last episode, showing the saga of young CW, I thought "Well, interesting, but, like Beans+Doc ep, it´s more a filler/spin of than a proper episode". But "Backstory" and "Peter", together, do create a compelling and emotionally heavy personality for the insofar comic relief CW. Just great storytelling, and great acting.

A second boring episode about the most boring character in an otherwise great show.

What a waste of time.
