Fear leads to anger
Djervig25 May 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I was honestly shocked by this episode's apparent moral standing on gun safety.

It is probably because I am European, and not used having a gun shoved in my face, but if someone I was in a relationship did point on at my "center mass", I would leave them in a heartbeat.

This was an opportunity to address how many people die or get injured as a result of poor gun safety. They could even have paired it up with the depressed mushroom guy storyline, if they had opted for a sad ending with him. As people are much more likely to use that gun they keep at home on themselves rather than in scenario where they actually have to defend themselves.

Honestly I am just disappointed. This felt like watching a storyline from the early 90's.

An episode that was a little bit different

Warning: Spoilers
This episode was different from the others.

The plot started with an interesting story about a girl that needed a surgery but their parents were too worried about how could end.

The second story it's about Shaun and Lea going on a camping trip but at the end Shaun got injured and Lea was in the need to do a surgery in the middle of the forest! For me, that made me think it was a crazy thing but at the end everything went well.

To sum up my review I'd like to add that the ending of Dr. Glassman's wife leaving him was pretty sad.

In general, it was a enjoyable episode.

Really?! Lea doing surgery? I adore Shea, but you are really overexploiting it!
olgairojasprado25 May 2021
I really love the show in general, so that is why I keep on giving it 10 stars, but this was the episode that confirmed to me that (at least to me) the reason why season 4 is not fully working is because you are over exploiting Shea. The reason why many people used to love The Good Doctor was because of the thrill of seeing how Shaun copped in a particular way DIFFERENT real life situations (Such as doing surgery for the first time, accompanying Glassman after chemo, visiting his toxic parents, karaoke/tequila shots, ...) but now that EVERYTHING is about Shea, that charm has gone!

I REALLY LOVE Shea scenes ❤❤❤ and I REALLY FELT and cried with their lost. But over exploiting their love and making the couple having to face those many different situations (like this one, which was a bit ridiculous to me), far away from making the show more interesting, is making it hard to buy and seems like you are running out of ideas (God no, I want more seasons!)

Please keep Shea but also get the show back to the essence that the audience loved during the first 3 seasons!❤

S4.E18 - Shaun's Accident [9/10]

Warning: Spoilers
(S4. E18) My Live Reaction / Review for The Good Doctor Season 4 Episode 18 ''Forgive or Forget''. The previous episode was good and I gave it a rating of 9/10. Let's see if this one is better or worse. Once again Dr. Glassman has a problem with Debbie's gun, its such a dumb argument. This guy uses mushrooms to cure his depression? That's nuts. Lea and Shaun are going camping and I don't know if that's good or bad. Its nice that Claire and her dad talk about their issues. Shaun had an accident, almost broke his leg and he wants Lea to do surgery on him? That's not a good idea. Dr. Glassman's marriage is falling apart and that's so sad. Overall this episode was good and I enjoyed it. My rating is 9/10.

Another series running out of ideas after a couple of seasons

Where's the medicine gone. It's all about life outside the hospital. Shaun and his great medical diagnosis have just about disappeared. Please get back to the medicine and only medicine.

Silly, so, so silly.

Warning: Spoilers
Daughter finds out father has been sending money throughout her entire childhood, decides it's still not good enough so she can maintain the perfection that is her terrible terrible mother in her own mind.. Ridiculous. Forgive him and move on, stop being a drama queen.

The unloading of the pistol is actually a good idea, you shouldn't store bullets in the pistol for long periods of time because it will compress the spring and not load properly after a while. Keeping any magazine fed firearm loaded for long periods of time is a big no no. Don't do it folks.

It's starting to feel repetetive
iamanimdbname27 February 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I think I'll need a break from the show after this episode. Something was off about this season and I couldn't put my finger on it. Nothing really progresses and got this filler-y feel to it, even though there are certainly things happening on the screen. The season has some great moments, but it feels stretched out.

The deep focus on relationships this season could sound interesting on paper, but not if we're just running in circles with no new results. Shaun and Lea overcome struggles, again. Aaron and Debbie fight over the gun thing, again (destroying a relationship that was good for the show just for a bit of sad I guess). Claire is mad about her parents, again and Alex and Morgan are stuck in an endless cycle of a literal on-off relationship.

It's just tiring and I don't want to watch "will they forgive each other and come back together" on endless repeat. This season feels so soapy and boring. Even the whole arc about Lea's pregnancy was just played for sads and didn't lead anywhere. It's an emotional roller coaster without wheels - no matter how hard it tries, it's stuck.

Just dull, with awful direction.
MeerkatD23 March 2023
This episode is one of the dullest in an already poor fourth season. The ridiculous notion that in America, Shaun and Lea couldn't get another campsite anywhere is already stupid, but then we have another fight between Glassman and his incredibly annoying wife. It's just space filler at this point, with little story important enough to care about.

At this point it's bad enough, but the direction is woeful. Every character talking has the back or side of another character looming in the foreground. IN EVERY SHOT. We sat there, eventually hooting with laughter at how bad it was...at least that made it somewhat more entertaining, but for all the wrong reasons.

Starting to be very same!!!!!!

The gun debate. Okay, I get it. This is a vehicle for an agenda, but what really gets me us how arrogant the anti-gun brigade are in their arrogance.

So, it's alright for him to unload her gun, but not for her to have a gun? Imagine that reversed. Imagine her instisting he train and carry a firearm?

I know. Nuts. So why do the anti-gun folks think they are right?
