I am not a Galatasaray fan, but it is absolutely not right to ignore such a great player like Hakan Shukur. Fatih could never achieve his results, without Arif and Hakan in his squad. Imagine that all the big victories of Galatasaray nad Turkish national team in 2000's took place because with Hakan Shukur. Im really sorry for him. I heard becaue of his political views he is working as a taxi driver in U. S. the weird stuff is ,that not a word mentioned about this player. I think Fatih Terim should not agree on that series: its not honest to tell his sucess story and pretent that Hakan simply not existed.

Mediocre Documentary About a Turkish Football Legend
olivesandvines17 September 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Fatih Terim is a legendary but problematic football figure in Turkish football. The documentary "Grande Terim" (or simply "Terim" in its Turkish version) presents a partial, limited and very one sided picture of the stories around him. Few footballers, few football coaches, few commentators, and yes almost no legendary characters of his successful teams (no Bülent Korkmaz, Tugay Kerimoglu, Ergun Penbe or Hasan Sas for instance) except a few names. The documentary presents an always-right, always dedicated to success image of the man himself.

The documentary simply passes the notoriety of Terim with a few one-sided words from his side, like his quarrel in a restaurant in Alacati, presenting no other story about his sometimes violent attitudes towards his fellow footballers during the matches.

Yet "Grande Terim" is a valuable piece about one of the most successful and internationally famous characters in the contemporary history of Turkish football. However, it is far away from being critical even to a slight sense.

You are all champions in my eyes
krmcirpici15 September 2022
Fatih Terim's documentary is generally a documentary based on the Galatasaray period. Although there are Italian and Turkish periods, the focus is on the seasons in which Fatih Terim was more successful.

Especially since Galatasaray is a series based on the Uefa cup, the ratings and human comments are naturally a bit biased.

When you look at it as a documentary, the documentary was inspired by Last Dance and given in close perspective in anecdotes.

If you are interested in Football, it will be very useful to watch. Because the success achieved in that period is still not a repeated success and it sheds a very good light on that period. At the same time, it is a documentary in which the importance of human ambition, belief and motivation is beautifully explained.

Documentary of one of the most important name of Turkish football
onur_elibol15 September 2022
It's a quite good mini documentary for those who interested in football. It's one of the best sport documentaries I have seen. The Grande Fatih Terim; as a football player, as a coach, as a father. The documentary based on his period with Galatasaray, however; there are also Italian and Turkish periods. I enjoyed it a lot.

Also I must say that there are very special names in the cast such as Ali Sen (former president of Fenerbahçe), Rui Costa (former iconic player, president of Benfica), George Hagi (iconic player) and much more! I was very surprised when I saw the cast. Didn't see that coming. Great work from Netflix.

In Turkey, people are so biased towards to Fatih Terim. He is either much loved or much hated. So don't rely on these haters who gave the documentary 1 star. I'm pretty sure they didn't even watch it. Just watch it yourself, you are probably gonna like it.

Where is Hakan Sukur?
hturkkahraman-1006615 September 2022
As a life long fan of Galatasaray, I watched this documentary with great interest. Nobody can ignore what Terim did for Galatasaray. However, soccer is a team sport and you can never succeed without your team! In that regard, Terim would not be the "Grande Terim" without his players. One of them was the greatest Turkish football player of all time, Hakan Sukur was never mentioned in this documentary. That was not a mistake because you cannot ignore a player who has contributed the most in every victory. This was a shame for the producers, directors and most importantly for Terim. A man who claims that he gives everynan what he deserves should give Sukur what he deserved. Every documentary is a mirror to the history. Unfortunately, the mirror was broken in this documentary and people saw a distorted success history without the key elements. Netflix should be more careful what they stream and produce!

The Greatest Coach!
ilkererenn15 September 2022
First of all, I would like to thank Netflix for making the documentary about the greatest coach in Turkish football history. It was a production that presented Fatih Terim's family life beyond his football life. Sometimes it was exciting, sometimes it was emotional. It was the best football documentary I've ever watched on Netflix. It was the excellent production for Turkish football fans like us! We are so exciting for new season! Also thanks for Galatasaray's legends Arda Turan, Cladio Taffarel, George Popescu, George Hagi, Ümit Davala and Galatasaray's coach Okan Buruk

"finito cokare resultante importante!" "Allah Kerim Fatih Terim"

Disgraceful
ksuat-1383516 September 2022
As a huge fan of Galatasaray and Fatih Terim i must point out that it is incredibly unfair that they didn't include anything about one of the greatest if not the greatest player in Turkish and Galatasaray football history Hakan Sukur. He contributed so much to Galatasaray and the Turkish national teams victory and its disturbingly unjust that they didn't give him the credit he deserves with his hard work and passion. No matter how hard you try you can never erase the legend from history and he will always remain as one of the greatest footballers in Turkish history and no one will ever forget his contributions. Absolutely disgraceful.

Emperor Terim
ugurcanyilmaz15 September 2022
Great documentary about Fatih Terim's life. Really enjoyed it what a great leader. Definitely a man to remember in football history for what he did with what he had. It is easy to coach big teams with unlimited budget but the real deal is to defeat those teams with what you have in hand. That is true coaching like Hose Mourinho won champions league with porto. In football everything is possible, it is the uncertainty of outcome that cheers fans and fills the seats. The series puts a great example of this and summarises Fatih Terim's coaching life with ups and downs both in football club Galatasaray S. K. And national teams.

One sided documentary by Terim
grayican18 September 2022
An embarrassing milestone for Netflix's streaming policy. What I understand from this documentary is that Netflix publishes bespoke biographies in countries we do not know to launder such dubious and dirty relationships. They don't want to take a picture with him, let alone broadcast a documentary about such a disgraced man in the US, but they don't even hesitate to show such dirty types as heroes to underdeveloped countries that they see as small and despicable. The ratings are pure scam, A documentary film cannot be made in the US for this type of character, the platform that shoots would be protested.

El Grande Fatih Terim
sari-murat5616 September 2022
Fatih Terim is a very important person not only for Galatasaray but also for Turkish football.

If he had been born in the Netherlands or Italy, he would have had a completely different career.

When you watch the documentary, you can see someone who never gives up.

It just saddened me not to see the King Hakan Sukur. Hakan Sukur and Arif Erdem are important parts of this story.

Many thanks to all who supported.

We also thank netflix for the documentary. Documentaries like this have always been a source of inspiration.

This documentary will have a special place for me and all other Galatasaray fans.

Thank you Fatih Terim for everythink.

Forever Galatasaray,Forever Fatih Terim.

Fatih Terim's life as a much loved coach in Italy
cagkanyan15 September 2022
It was a very enjoyable documentary. I especially liked the Italian adventure part of Terim. Terim is also very prone to acting. He should definitely act in a mafia series or movie. Because his facial expressions and gestures also resemble Sicilians. For a while I thought Joe Pesci's older brother was talking. "Signor Terim" has a very colorful personality. You can understand this while watching the documentary. A person with a full brain like Fatih Terim should never be condemned to loneliness. I wish him to be the president of the Turkish Football Federation. I hope this wish will come true one day. Respects.

Purge to Greatest Strikers in Galatasay History
asa325915 September 2022
In a oppressive political environment in Turkey, 2 greatest strikers in Galatasaray and Turkish Football National Team history; Hakan Sukur and Arif Erdem have been purged because of their political ideas. This purge tries to erase them from the Turkish football history. The head goal scorer in galatasay and Turkey has not been shown in this documentary. The goals they scored even the scenes and photos they appeared censored. Editors and directors intentionally erased them from all the footages. This documentary shows their time, shows many goals but not theirs. The director shows great effort to not showing them. Like in the legendary George Orwell Novel "1984", they try to change history. This documentary serves that intention. What a shame!!!

Netflix should be more careful and take action to that kind of purge.

The Greatest
mtyrs17 September 2022
It was a fluent and enjoyable documentary about the life and achievements of Fatih Terim, one of the important coaches in the history of Turkish and world football. It was a 4-hour long documentary, but when you watch it, you don't understand how time passes. I can say that it is a fluent and really high quality documentary. It consists of sections that deal with Fatih Terim's football and coaching periods in order and tells a different story in each section. As he really said, "The story never ends with people like me". Fatih Terim is a coach who has an important place in World Football. Although the supporters of teams competing with Galatasaray, where he was a coach for 4 times and a football player for 10 years, claim otherwise; this is real. The most important examples of this are that Galatasaray, which could not become a champion in the 90s, made it champion 4 times in a row, then won the UEFA Cup, and the team he founded after he left his job won the Super Cup. And then there is the fact that the Fiorentina team, which he took over after leaving Galatasaray, won the Coppa Italia by beating the Italian giants with extraordinary success. Although won the Fiorentina Cup after leaving her post, it was Fatih Terim who led his to this success. Add 1 super cup and 1 coppa italia to this man's manager profile!

Politically influenced, incomplete love-in
cbashkal4 October 2022
Hakan Sukur - a Galatasaray and Turkey legend, goalscoring king and one of the most important contributors to Terim's success with both club and national sides is not mentioned once. 200+ goals for Galatasaray, 50+ goals for Turkey, started in the 2000 Uefa cup final. His name not uttered, his goals not shown, his accomplishments never mentioned in the whole first episode and I presume throughout the whole documentary as I refused to watch the rest based on this scandal. Shame on Netflix and shame on Turkish political lobbying for trying to erase and ignore one of Turkish footballs greatest achievers. Also omitted for political beliefs is Arif Erdem, another star player of that era for club and country.

Brilliant
Youssef7815 September 2022
A brilliant documentary that cover Fatih Terim life in and outside of soccer. Full of Galatasaray great memories and good interviews with ex players, admins and journalists as well as his stints in Italy and with Turkyie national team.

Covering 2000 UEFA Cup winning Journey brought back great memories and showing Terim Italian adventure in good details to prove that he never fails but he stood to his principles even if it means sacrificing the chance to lead Fiorentina in Coppa Italia Final.

If it only include more footage of the emperor playing days then I would give it ten stars with no hesitation. Hopefully will see more of this respectable documentaries regularly in Netflix.

A documentary that every soccer lover should watch in my opinion.

This is not the real term
cuneytdirican16 September 2022
In the documentary, match fixing and incentive bonuses, dopings and championships won were not explained. Images of FETO terrorist organization member football players were cut, and the championships they won with FETO terrorist organization member referees were not explained. In order to understand Fatih Terim, it should be explained clearly how the politicians intervened in the matches played in Turkey. If Mehmet Agar and Mesut Yilmaz, one is the Prime Minister and the other is the Chief of Police, are explained clearly how they affect the referees, Fatih Terim can be expressed fully. Otherwise, the Documentary becomes an unfinished story. It should also be known that Galatasaray went so far as to have the teams that the champion rappers meet with horse doping. Mesut Bakkal, who admitted that they did horse doping, confessed in his book. Therefore, the parts told are a rosy lie. It has become a story in which the facts are extracted and the remaining crumbs are told. I give 0 out of 10.

Life Changing
emirgulen17 February 2024
Fatih (Imparator) Terim is a revalutionist and game changer of modern football history. This documentry showcases Terim's personal and in-field life perfectly. My only critic is about lenght of the documentry. I would like to watch longer and more comprimised version of this masterpiece. You must watch this documentry immedietly. It doesnt metter if ur a Galatasaray fan or fenerbahce fan or ... fan it archives life of the greatest turkish manager period. All of the future football manager canditates must analize every single sentense Terim says. They are worth of gold even diamond. If you dont like Terim (IMPARATOR) that is the thing its going to change your mind.

Even Netflix influenced by the Dictatorship in Türkiye
tahaygun17 September 2022
Warning: Spoilers
The documentary itself is somehow ok. But there was a match from past and the they skipped 4 goals. I was really upset because those were really good goals. Thought it is somehow a copyright thing but searched further more. Then I realized that they were scored by Hakan Sukur. They basically removed those wonderful goals just because of him. Unbelievable! So they basically removed everything about him from the documentary to satisfy the Turkish dictatorship.

I wouldn't recommend it to anyone else to be honest. And most of the reviews here coming from Galatasaray fans. So they are not true I would say.

Not complete.
dr-reg21 September 2022
Two players that made Fatih Terim who he is today is not in the documentary. There is no excuse for this, this documentary could be delayed or netflix could be more brave together with Fatih Terim and include both players. But I guess the fear of politics won this match against Terim and netflix.

The legend player Hakan Sukur should be in this documentary to give the full picture. Without him the documentary was a bit half.

Also I expected some details about what and how about that happend to Terim during his career when he got fired. But it looks like the documentary is only about the success.

I do like Terim maybe another documentari in the future? Part 2.

Not showing or mentioning Hakan and Arif makes this entire production trash, dishonest, and deceiving. You cannot change or hide the facts. I wish someone warned Netflix not to proceed with this project in the first place. Hakan Sukur is the most prominent scorer for the entire history of soccer and Arif also played a major role in that period of success - even though I must be honest that his fake falls caused so many penalty kicks that would have been eliminated in today's video system. Regardless, those two players cannot be separated from the history of Galatasaray and from the history and legacy of Fatih Terim.

BIG WASTE OF TIME
tcfull21 February 2024
Documentary means describing a person objectively, but I don't think it happened like that. It was a movie that completely praised Fatih Terim. I have read articles from many critics in Turkey that it does not have the taste of a documentary. Despite that, I opened it and watched it, but I thought it was a waste of time. I recommend better documentaries to those who want to watch them. In this Netflix product they made as a documentary, only Fatih Terim was praised, nothing else. They definitely did not share the negative aspects. In fact, that's why I found Netflix strange and questioned it...

Incomplete and Disappointing
aylininhat17 February 2024
ÄWhen I heard that "Terim" was a mini-series purportedly delving into the backstory of a notorious event, I was eager for a gripping portrayal of the truth. Unfortunately, my expectations were let down. The series offers only a superficial depiction of the events, omitting many crucial details essential to understanding the whole truth.

Character development was shallow and uninspired. Plotlines felt forced and illogical. What's worse, the series appears to withhold or distort certain key aspects, leaving viewers with a skewed perspective of reality.

It's disappointing that "Terim" lacked the courage to present the full truth and instead delivered a half-hearted and superficial portrayal. I can only deem this series as a missed opportunity to properly address an important event and provide audiences with a honest and comprehensive narrative.
