The entire show is AMAZING, besides this one episode. It starts off great. It really only falls apart at the end. Jade makes decisions that she definitely wouldn't really make & that's really about it. She would've realistically kicked her daughter out & said to not tell Dad. Plus, Bea would've closed the door on the way out of the lab too & the Zero wouldn't have been able to get out. Seriously, the entire rest of the show is a 10, but this one episode hurt it quite a bit for being unrealistic in character decisions that go completely against her character.

Worst balance between family drama and horror
pabrimel28 July 2022
I've played several games in this franchise and the series' approach to the events of the original Raccoon City is fine. Luckily they've decided to go into the future, so they can actually use references from the video games while not necessarily respecting what happened in them.
However, having the video games as source material, I can't understand why the story feels so confined or closed to one family, which for some reason they've decided to make it Wesker's, changing the ethnicity of the character and the daughters. The choice of this change seems fine to me to introduce more diversity. After all, that's not a problem. However, it is a problem that the actresses playing Wesker's daughters don't look anything like the younger version. I don't believe that any of the daughters are 14 years old in their younger version and then, the protagonist of this series has her palettes offset from each other with a big gap between the two teeth. In the case of the sister, they've swapped a Hispanic looking actress for an Asian one. Why?
The actress who plays the CEO of Umbrella looks to me like she's overacting or like she's in a play. She's really playing a Disney movie villain and there's little character development, even though we're 6 episodes in.
In general, it seems like all of Resident Evil is a way to attract viewers to the series. When you start watching this kind of TV series, what you want is horror, a certain fidelity to the material from which the ideas come, and there is little of that. At the very least, if they change something it should be to improve it. Unfortunately this is not the case. It's not even good as a horror product, let alone something based on "Resident Evil".

Warning: Spoilers
I hate this series. I hate myself for wasting my time to watch it this far. But who the heck is stupid enough to bring a zombie to the ship like that?? I hate that she acts so surprised when the zombie escapes, like yo that's what you get for being so stupid smh.
How's it possibly gotten so bad?

Jade is returned home, but being the headstrong idiot that she is, she endangers everyone.
So, you have about half an hour of melodrama, melodrama that would be enough to make a 1980's soap opera look deep and meaningful, and then you have about fifteen minutes of Jade being....stupid, seriously stupid, she's thoughtless, reckless and stupid.
I began by giving 4 star ratings, I didn't think they'd manage to decline from there, but they have, I'm giving it a two, just in case the next one gets any worse, and deserves a one star.
I'm actually irritated with myself that I decided to stick with it, I should have dropped it after episode one.
Just don't waste your time, 2/10.

Virtually nothing happened this episode. Most of time was spent on characters having very boring conversations about their relationships. This is a survival-horror franchise!
Why are the characters all so bland? It's like the producers said, "we've put so much diversity in this show... we don't even have to worry about writing interesting characters!" Sorry, it doesn't work that way.
