Sex & Nudity

- Occasional sex scenes, but mild and without nudity, except a few instances where we see male and female rear nudity.
- Prostitution is a theme throughout the show.
- Prostitutes are shown interacting with their customers. They are only in their underwear and the most we see is making out.
- Women also wear outfits that show lots of cleavage.
- Breasts are briefly seen in season 1 episode 10 bar scene.
- In series 1 the outline of a woman's breast and nipple can be seen when the light shines through her blouse.
Violence & Gore

- The violence in Seasons 1-3 is occasionally bloody however mostly brief or offscreen but some episodes contain some blood splatter and a few more gruesome those brief scenes such as a mans arm being cut off. Seasons 4-6 contain a lot more severe and bloodier violence and even occasional gore (although never its lingered on). Three scenes show men getting blown to pieces with lots of blood and matter spraying.
- Shooting and armed conflict seem to be the centerpiece of this series.
Profanity

- One use of "fuck" throughout the entire series and occasional infrequent homophobic and racial slurs.
- (First season) religious profanity J**** C***** and variations 2-3 times or more per episode
- There is one F bomb in season 3 ep 5.
- "Goddamn" is used about every other sentence. "shit", "pussy", and "asshole" used infrequently. The word "fag"/"faggot" has been used as an insult and few instances of the slur "negro".
Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

- Some of the plot revolves around the dealing of marijuana and other substances. Meth is occasionally seen being used as well as pot and pills. Some unkown powders are used occasionally however drug use isn't frequent and is usually brief.
- Casual drinking and occasional smoking occurs in the series. Major characters take to selling drugs such as OxyContin and Heroin. Some characters implied use drugs casually.
- There are scenes of drug use in Seasons 3 and 4, most of which consist of characters snorting powdery substances. The series on the whole, does not glamourize or encourage drug use.
- A more well-presented character from Season 5 and a villain from Season 6 (who is portrayed as a very competent tycoon) engage in casual marijuana use. A young teenage girl is shown to be an expert in growing marijuana - mentioned on occasion throughout the series.
Frightening & Intense Scenes

- Some occasional tension and intense sequences throughout each season however the tension is usually ramped up towards the end of each season.
- The show does contain lots of intense shootouts with some blood splatter and some scenes contain gruesome images.
- Rated TV-MA for strong violence, some sexual content, language and drug material.
